Retiree loses control of car, crashes into food stall in Alor Gajah
ALOR GAJAH: A retired cop sustained injuries when the car he was driving lost control and crashed into a food stall along Jalan Pantai Belimbing in Durian Tunggal here. In the 2.55pm incident on Monday (June 2), the 80-year-old driver suffered swelling to the head, believed to be due to the impact of the crash. Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the victim, who was driving alone, was travelling from Pulau Sebang towards Taman Melaka Perdana, here when the incident occurred. "Upon reaching the stretch, the elderly driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before crashing into a roadside stall. "Fortunately, no customers were inside and the 53-year-old female stall owner also escaped unscathed," he said. Supt Ashari added that the victim was taken to Alor Gajah Hospital and a police report was lodged by the stall owner. "The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959," he added. Meanwhile, Alor Gajah district Civil Defence officer Captain (PA) Shahrulnizam Mad Shah said four of his personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving the emergency call. He said that upon arrival, the team found a car lodged inside the stall and pinned under a collapsed roof. "The victim had already been rescued by members of the public by the time my team arrived "We provided treatment and calmed the victim, who appeared traumatised before taking him to Alor Gajah hospital for treatment," he said. Teacher in viral sex video scandal lodges police report over spread of footage
ALOR GAJAH: The school teacher who was fined yesterday for attempting to engage in immoral conduct with a married electrician has lodged a police report after discovering that a video related to the incident had been circulated. District police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah confirmed that the report was received on May 24. He said the case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. "Police have examined the mobile phones of the teacher and the electrician but did not find the video in question, which is believed to have already been deleted," he said when contacted. Ashari said investigations were still ongoing. Yesterday, the electrician whose real name is Muhammad Hairul Ezuan Hamzah, the teacher, Nur Fadilah Zainal, pleaded guilty at the Ayer Keroh Syariah High Court to a charge of attempting to commit an immoral act. Both were fined RM5,000 each, in default six months' imprisonment. Meanwhile, Melaka Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Rahmad Mariman said the secondary school teacher has been placed at the state Education Department and has not been transferred to another school.

Teacher in Alor Gajah affair controversy lodges report over leaked video
ALOR GAJAH: A 31-year-old female teacher at the centre of controversy surrounding an alleged extramarital affair has lodged a police report, claiming that an intimate video of her has gone viral. Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the teacher lodged a report here recently as she was dissatisfied upon discovering that her intimate video had been circulated. He said police have opened an investigation under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. "However, we have yet to trace the video in question," he said on Saturday (May 31). Supt Ashari added that the investigation will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions. On Friday (May 30), the teacher and a male wiring technician were each fined the maximum amount of RM5,000 by the Melaka Syariah High Court for attempting to commit adultery. The case had previously attracted widespread attention on social media when the female teacher issued a public apology amid allegations of an affair with a 31-year-old married man, known online as "abang wiring". The matter sparked public outrage after screenshots of lewd and inappropriate conversations between the two went viral on WhatsApp.

Man killed after being thrown from car rammed by stage bus in Melaka
ALOR GAJAH: A 23-year-old man was killed after being thrown from his car, which was rammed by a stage bus locally known as the 'Bas Pink' (pink bus) along the Lebuh Alor Gajah - Melaka Tengah - Jasin (AMJ) highway near Taman Awan Biru here on Monday. The accident was captured in a video clip that has since gone viral on social media. Muhammad Aiman Mohd Farid, a subcontractor with Tenaga Nasional Bhd, died at the scene from severe injuries after the impact of the crash flung him out of the vehicle and into a drain. District police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah said the victim's friend, Muhammad Hakimi Hafiz Baharin, 22, sustained bodily injuries in the 4.55pm crash. Ashari said preliminary investigations showed that Aiman, who was driving, and his friend were travelling from Rembia, while the bus was heading to Jalan AMJ from the Melaka Sentral bus terminal. "The victim had stopped the car by the roadside upon arriving at the location. "However, the bus veered onto the roadside and rammed into the victim's vehicle. "The impact caused the victim to be thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while his friend was rushed to Alor Gajah Hospital for treatment," he said in a statement. The 37-year-old bus driver was uninjured and has been arrested to assist in investigations into the accident. A urine test conducted on the driver returned negative for drugs. He also has no criminal record or outstanding traffic summonses. "The vehicle involved has been taken to Puspakom for inspection," Ashari added. He said a dashboard camera recording from the bus has been obtained and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death.

Two motorcyclists killed, one injured in crash on PLUS Expressway
ALOR GAJAH: Two motorcyclists were killed while another was injured in an accident involving three motorcycles at KM220.2 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) Melaka bound, yesterday. Alor Gajah police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah said the victims, Farith Aiman Mohd Fairus, 21, who was riding a Honda RS150R, and Mohamad Shahril Anuar, 45, on a Yamaha MT-25, died at the scene from severe injuries in the 7.40pm crash. The third rider, R. Jeevankumar, 18, who was on a Yamaha Y15ZR, sustained abrasions on his left arm and leg and was taken to Alor Gajah Hospital for treatment. Ashari said initial investigations found that all three riders were travelling in the same direction from the north towards Melaka. As they approached the scene, Farith Aiman's motorcycle struck the rear left side of a lorry in the left lane, causing him to lose control and fall into the emergency lane. "His motorcycle then collided with Mohamad Shahril's bike in the emergency lane, which in turn crashed into Jeevankumar's motorcycle," he said in a statement today. Ashari added that the accident occurred during dark and rainy conditions. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death. All three motorcycles have been sent to the Puspakom centre in Rembia for further inspection.
