Asharq Documentary to launch ‘Hollywood Week' featuring iconic star-focused documentaries

Asharq Documentary unveils a star-studded lineup of critically acclaimed documentaries — streaming for the first time with Arabic subtitles, on Asharq NOW. Asharq Documentary is set to premiere 'Hollywood Week' on May 19, a special programming event showcasing a curated lineup of documentaries that delve into the lives, careers and legacies of some of Hollywood's most iconic figures. Timed to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival, this exclusive selection brings viewers a new perspective on global stars, with all documentaries streamed in Arabic for the first time via the Asharq Now platform. The weeklong event offers a deep dive into the personal and professional journeys of cinema legends such as Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, Kate Winslet, Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson and Leonardo DiCaprio. Each film offers a nuanced look at the glamour, complexity, and cultural impact of these influential figures. Among the highlights is Marlon Brando: In Paradise, which explores the actor's unexpected environmental legacy after he made the island of Tetiaroa his home in the 1960s. Sharon Stone: Survival Instinct traces the star's dramatic rise, her fight against industry norms, and her resilience following a life-threatening stroke. Robert De Niro examines the actor's disciplined craft and creative collaborations, while Dr. Jack and Mr. Nicholson unpacks the enigmatic duality of Jack Nicholson's public and private personas. Clint Eastwood: The Last Legend reflects on Eastwood's transformation from Western icon to Oscar-winning filmmaker, and Kate Winslet: Leading Lady follows the actress's evolution from her Titanic breakthrough to her award-winning performances, all while staying grounded in authenticity. Rounding out the lineup is Leonardo DiCaprio, a portrait of the actor's transformation from teen heartthrob to a committed environmental activist and Oscar-winning performer. By offering these intimate documentaries in Arabic, Asharq Documentary aims to provide regional audiences with access to the stories behind the stars. 'Hollywood Week' not only celebrates cinema's enduring allure but also offers thoughtful reflections on the personal struggles and cultural contributions of its brightest icons. The films will be available for streaming anytime on the Asharq Now platform.
