Accused stalked metro stn before picking girl; act caught on CCTV
Lucknow: On the night of the crime, Deepak visited the Alambagh Metro Station two to three times, observing the surroundings. The crime occurred in an area surrounded by three police outposts, including a pink booth designated for women's safety, located just 300 metres from the crime scene where the girl was sleeping with her mother. Despite the police presence around, the accused, Deepak, managed to carry out the horrific assault and escape. "Once he was certain that the girl's parents were in deep sleep, he kidnapped the girl, committed the rape, and fled towards the service road. Showing no fear after the crime, Deepak roamed around Alambagh and nearby areas on his scooter for about two and a half hours. The entire act was captured on CCTV," said an officer. The CCTV footage related to the crime surfaced after the encounter, showing the accused carrying the girl in his arms before committing the heinous act near an elevator. Police analysis of the video suggests that the accused pre-targeted the victim, indicating a planned attack. "The condition of the girl is stable now and she is scheduled to undergo surgery later on Friday," DCP (Central) Ashish Srivastava said. Three-year-old girl kidnapped, raped, dumped in thickets
Lucknow: A three-year-old girl, sleeping with her mother under a bridge near Alambagh metro station, was abducted, raped and dumped in a nearby thickets in the city on Wednesday/Thursday night. The victim suffered deep wounds in her private parts and is recuperating at a hospital. Police teams have been formed to track down the miscreant, said DCP Central Ashish Srivastava. A case under the charges of rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), 2012, was registered against the unidentified miscreant. The police teams were scanning CCTV footage to reach the rapist. "Officials are with the parents of the girl, and we are providing all help to the family," said Srivastava. The incident came to light when officials of One Stop, an organisation helping women, informed the police. The doctors attending the girl said she bled profusely through the deep wound in her private part, and her condition was critical. They said her private part was found badly damaged, and she would have to undergo plastic surgery. It is suspected that an unknown person took her away and after raping her, he threw her away, thinking she was dead. A handicapped person heard the girl screaming in pain at around 500 metres from her dwelling place, and after this, he informed the victim's family. "After completing the work, we slept. Late at night on Wednesday, someone took the girl away. At 4 am on Thursday, an old man woke us up, and then we came to know about the incident," said the victim's kin. He said he, along with the girl's father, took her to Lokbandhu hospital, where the doctors examined her and informed them that she was raped. "She was in a critical condition and was immediately shifted to the emergency ICU. Many experts, including a gynaecologist, paediatric expert, and a surgeon, examined the girl," said Dr Rajiv Dixit, medical superintendent, Lokbandhu hospital. He said that the initial investigation revealed multiple injuries in the girl's private parts, due to which she needed immediate surgery. The girl is being treated there under the supervision of Dr JD Rawat.

Toddler in Lko abducted while sleeping with parents, raped; culprit at large
A two-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped near the Alambagh Metro station in Lucknow, one of the busiest zones at due to the presence of the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT). The victim, a daughter of pavement dwellers from Unnao, was picked up while she was sleeping next to her father and mother on the roadside early Thursday morning, police said. The accused is still absconding, and police teams have been formed to trace him. The child was found in a severely injured state, abandoned around 500 metres from the spot. Her cries were heard by a differently-abled man, who alerted her ragpicker parents. They were already searching for her after discovering her missing around 4 am. Notably, this incident occurred close to the site where a woman from Ayodhya was abducted and murdered after a failed sexual assault attempt by an e-rickshaw driver and his brother earlier in March. That case had also raised concerns about women's safety in the city. Doctors at King George's Medical University (KGMU) trauma centre said that the minor sustained grievous injuries to her private parts and requires urgent surgery. Her condition remains critical. Dr Rajiv Dixit, medical superintendent of Rajnarayan Lokbandhu Hospital, said the girl was first brought to their hospital at around 7:30 am. 'She was in pain and was immediately shifted to the emergency ICU. A team of specialists, including a gynaecologist, paediatrician, and surgeon, conducted initial assessments. Due to the severity of her condition, she was referred to KGMU by noon,' he added. Deputy commissioner of police (Central), Ashish Srivastava, confirmed that a first information report (FIR) was lodged at Alambagh police station, a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and POCSO sections 5(h) and 6 was registered. 'The family initially took the child to Lok Bandhu Hospital, where doctors confirmed rape and informed the One Stop Centre. Subsequently, the police were notified,' Srivastava said. 'Five police teams have been formed to track down the accused. Senior officials are monitoring the investigation on the ground,' he added. Archana Singh, in-charge of the One Stop Centre in Lucknow, said, 'As soon as our unit received the call from Lok Bandhu hospital, we rushed to the child and found her profusely bleeding with grave injuries to her lower body. One team went with the family to KGMU, while another accompanied the father to the police station to lodge the complaint.' The victim's father recounted that the family had eaten their dinner and settled on the roadside to sleep. 'We didn't even realise when she was taken. An elderly man informed us early in the morning about our child crying nearby,' he said. As per the FIR, the incident is suspected to have occurred between 2:30 am and 3 am. The location, a high-traffic zone near ISBT and the Metro bridge, has once again raised questions over Lucknow Police's claims of effective night patrolling. Madhu Garg of the All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) said, 'What can anyone say about this? People often blame women's clothing, but what was this two-and-a-half-year-old wearing to provoke such a crime? Crimes against minors are increasing while fear among criminals is vanishing.'
