Curtis Cotton, of Omaha, was accused of driving the vehicle, operating under the influence, at the time of the crash. Cotton was found guilty in April of 2025. He requested a new trial because he claimed he was 'denied due process,' but the new trial motion was rejected.
On June 6, the Court sentenced him to serve 25 years incarcerated under merged criminal counts. Additionally, he must pay Bond's family $150,000.
