Oak Ridge, Anderson County candidates to share their campaign experiences in panel talk
Democratic candidates who ran for office in Oak Ridge and Anderson County last year will relate their campaign experiences in a panel discussion at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 31, hosted by the Anderson County Democratic Women's Club.
The panelists will include some candidates who were elected and some who didn't win their elections, talking about strategies and campaign tactics they used in their campaigns. They will encourage other Democrats to consider running for office.
Presenters will include Ashley Craven, elected to Oak Ridge Board of Education; Tiffany Malone, also an Oak Ridge school board candidate; Anne Backus, a candidate for District 33 state representative; Ebony Capshaw, elected to Anderson County Commission in District 6; Theresa Venable, a candidate for Anderson County school board in District 5; and David Miller, elected to the Anderson County school board in District 8. Those elected were all first-time candidates for their positions.
The discussion will take place at the 201 Café and Wine Bar, 201 Jackson Square, Oak Ridge. Complimentary appetizers will be served, and a cash bar for beverages will be offered. For more information, send an email to ac-democratic-women@
