Second victim in 2024 Baton Rouge shooting dies from injuries
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Police confirmed that detectives were notified that a second victim from a 2024 shooting in Baton Rouge had died from their injuries.
Officers responded to a double shooting in the 11600 block of Sherwood Meadow Drive before 1 a.m. on Jan. 25, 2024, where two people were found shot. Days later, on Jan. 31, 2024, hospital staff told detectives that Ashton Williams, 17, had died from his gunshot injuries.
The East Baton Rouge Coroner's Office told detectives Thursday that the other victim in the shooting, David Hamilton, 17, had died from his injuries.
