KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama) -- The National sepak takraw squad displayed a commendable performance and showed extraordinary achievement in the final match of the 2025 Asian Cup Sepak Takraw Championship which ended today. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that despite Malaysia's defeat to Thailand, he remains confident that the national squad can rise and achieve success in the future. 'Today's defeat does not mean permanent failure. The national regu will surely rise stronger and more solid in future championships. Thank you for the high fighting spirit and tireless efforts to bring glory to Malaysia,' he said in his Facebook today.

Asian Cup Sepak Takraw: Regu Malaysia Crushes The Philippines
KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) -- The national team continued their excellent run when they easily defeated the Philippines 2-0 in the final match of Group D of the 2025 Asian Cup Sepak Takraw Championship held at Titiwangsa Stadium, today. In the match, Malaysia, led by Mohammad Syahir Rosdi (captain), Farhan Adam (setter) and Mohamad Azlan Alias (striker), had no problem maintaining the momentum of the victory they had earlier displayed to emerge as the group champions. The Philippines, however, started well at the beginning of the first set but that was not enough to stop the pressure of Ahmad Mohd Zain's men when they bounced back to win 15-9.

Asian Cup Sepak Takraw: Malaysia Falters In Attempt To Claim Second Title
KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's ambition to register a double victory in the 2025 Asian Cup Sepak Takraw Championship was dashed when they lost 1-2 to arch-rivals Thailand in the doubles final here today. In the action held at the Titiwangsa Stadium here, the Malaysian regu of Muhammad Noraizat Nordin and Muhammad Redwan Hakim Muhammad started well to win the first set 15-7. However, Thailand pair Sirisak Analoon and Tanaphon Sapyen who replaced Boonkoom Tipwong in the first set, managed to recover to win the next two sets 15-10, 15-12.
