Patna: Police in Kishanganj have claimed to have busted a racket of making fake Aadhaar cards for people living close to the India-Nepal and the Indo-Bangladesh borders. One person was arrested during a raid at Gilhabari village under Jiyapokhar police station area in Kishanganj district, while police are looking for two other members of the racket. Police said the accused had also been working to provide Indian identity card allegedly to the Bangladeshi infiltrators. "During the raid, several fake Aadhaar cards, a laptop, printer, Nepali currency, Nepali SIM cards, a scanner, and biometric devices were recovered from their possession," police said. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid on a premises at Gilhabari village on Friday late evening and arrested one person identified as Asraful (40). During interrogation, Asraful disclosed that he, along with his two other associates, Jamal and Pankaj, were involved in making fake Aadhaar cards for people, especially those living in areas near the Indo-Nepal border, police said. "A search is underway to nab his two associates," Kishanganj SP Sagar Kumar told reporters on Saturday.
