Vivek gets Labour, Mining
Hyderabad: After a grueling discussion with the Congress high command for two days, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy allotted portfolios to the newly inducted ministers on Wednesday night. Senior leader and Chennur MLA G Vivek Venkatswamy was given the portfolios of Labour, Employment, Training and Factories and Mining Mines and Geology. Adluri Laxman Kumar, who was elected from Dharmapuri Assembly Constituency, would look after SC, ST, Minority Welfare and Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons. Earlier, the Chief Minister was holding all welfare portfolios and also Labour and Employment. Makthal MLA Vakiti Srihari will be the Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries and Sports and Youth Services. An official notification was issued to this effect. The portfolios of the old ministers remain unchanged. Prior to this announcement, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who returned to Hyderabad after a three-day visit to New Delhi, had a meeting with Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and finalised the portfolios for the new ministers. News is abuzz that the three ministers will be taking charge on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister held an informal media interaction in New Delhi before taking the flight back to Hyderabad. Responding to questions, he clarified that there was no discussion in Delhi on the expansion of the state Cabinet. He maintained that the focus of the meetings with party's top brass was the issue of caste census in Karnataka, in the wake of Telangana's successful completion of the exercise. Labelling his processor K Chandrashekar Rao's family as an 'enemy' of Telangana, he affirmed that none from the family has any place in the Congress. Making sweeping comments on KCR family, he said that for as long as he was alive, none from KCR's family would get an entry into Congress. He likened the situation within the family to that of feud in the Telugu movie 'Assembly Rowdy'. He also accused BRS leaders of diverting media attention with their theatrics. Revanth Reddy expressed openness to review projects with Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, for the greater good of Telangana. While accusing Kishan Reddy of being hand-in-glove with BRS leadership, he alleged that the BJP leader had done great injustice to Telangana and was obstructing projects. He said that he has not brought a single project to the state and asked as to why Kishan Reddy has not conducted a single review with him on Telangana issues as a Cabinet minister.

None from KCR family will be allowed into Cong till I am there: Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Wednesday said no member of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao's family will have an entry into as long as he was at the helm and termed them as 'enemies' of Telangana. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The CM was replying to queries in an informal chat with reporters in New Delhi, before returning to Hyderabad after his three-day trip, regarding speculations over BRS MLC K Kavitha following her letter to KCR recently and her subsequent statements. He dubbed her rebellion as a family drama to seek people's attention as BRS had become almost irrelevant in Telangana politics, drawing a parallel with the Telugu movie 'Assembly Rowdy'. The CM said despite Kavitha openly stating that 'devils' have gathered around KCR, the BRS chief was yet to respond to his daughter's accusations. "The entire KCR family is trying to ensure that political discussions revolve around them. But they are traitors of Telangana," Revanth alleged. When asked to comment on KCR's appearance before the PC Ghose commission probing Kaleshwaram project, the CM said: "Today, KCR gave his version of the Kaleshwaram project to the commission. In two days, I will come out with all the details of the project in front of the media. The people of Telangana should know the facts." He also slammed Union minister G Kishan Reddy, accusing him of creating hurdles in the development of Telangana. "Kishan Reddy is acting at the behest of KCR. Several infrastructure projects such as the Regional Ring Road have been delayed due to his interference. I ensured land acquisition for Cherlapally railway station," he said, explaining the state govt's proactive role. But, if he comes forward for development of the state, I am ready to hold a review meeting on projects with him. I want to ask Kishan Reddy whether he ever gave a report on Telangana projects or at least asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant a project to Telangana. Did Kishan Reddy ever mention Telangana issues in the Union Cabinet?" Revanth asked. Pointing out that Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman took Metro rail to Chennai and another Union minister took Metro rail project to Karnataka, he said that Kishan Reddy did nothing for Telangana. 'Naxalism reduced in Telangana due to Indira's land reforms' Responding to queries on Naxalism, Revanth Reddy said their ideology will exist in some form or the other as long as societal inequalities persist. After Indira Gandhi became PM, land reforms were brought in as a result of which Naxalism declined in Telangana. Indira brought the slogan of 'land belongs to tillers' and distributed land pattas to lakhs of SC and ST families, he said. The previous Congress govts also built houses for the homeless, he said.

No entry for KCR family members in Congress, says Telangana CM Revanth Reddy amid BRS infighting
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday categorically ruled out the Congress admitting any member of BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao's family into the party, calling them "enemies of the state", as internal rifts in the KCR family play out in public. "No entry for KCR family members into Congress. Till Revanth Reddy is there, they will not be allowed. They have no place in the party," the chief minister told reporters here. Reddy's statement comes against the backdrop of a deepening strife in the KCR family that has spilled over into the political arena, triggering unrest in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) which was ousted from power in the state in December 2023 after a 10-year rule. KCR's daughter K Kavita has expressed political ambitions and raised concerns about social justice and internal party dynamics, exposing fissures in the BRS' first family. Dismissing the family rift, Reddy described it as a desperate attempt to remain relevant in state politics. "The KCR family rift is nothing but an effort to grab public attention with the party losing its relevance in the state," he said, drawing a parallel with the Telugu movie 'Assembly Rowdy' to illustrate the situation. The chief minister also trained his guns on the state BJP president, G Kishan Reddy, accusing him of failing to secure central funds for Telangana's development despite being a Union minister in the Modi cabinet twice. "Kishan Reddy has been a Union minister twice in the Modi cabinet, but he never made representations at the Centre for the welfare of the people of the state. He never applied his wisdom and tried to get funds from the Centre for the state," Reddy charged. The chief minister further alleged that the Union minister had not even reviewed pending state projects at the Centre, either with the state government or with MPs representing Telangana. Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Pralhad Joshi ensure metro development in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, but Kishan Reddy is opposing the metro project, he alleged. "There are several central projects that require the Union government's approval. I have to come every time to persuade them for early clearance," he added. Reddy was speaking to the media as he concluded his three-day visit to the national capital. Sources said Reddy has discussed with the Congress high command matters related to the allocation of portfolios to the newly inducted ministers in the cabinet. On Sunday, three new ministers were inducted into the Telangana cabinet, but portfolios have not been allocated to them yet.
