BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A traffic stop on Tuesday, June 10, ended with the arrest of an Assumption Parish man on drug and gun charges. Torianno Adarryl Howard Jr., 21, of Belle Rose, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, sale, distribution, or possession of a legend drug without a prescription or order prohibited, illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of controlled dangerous substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, no motor vehicle inspection tag, no proof of liability insurance, illegal window tint and failure to dim headlights. The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office said the stop took place Tuesday, close to LA 308 and Massey Lane, after a traffic violation. A deputy spoke with Howard and had a K-9 perform an open-air sniff of his vehicle. APSO said the K-9 'alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances.' A search of the vehicle uncovered assorted drug paraphernalia, a gun, synthetic marijuana and marijuana. After his arrest, Howard was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. NAPOLEONVILLE, La () — Jedarrius Jaylon Brown, 20, was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office for allegedly committing felony armed robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, officials said. Assumption Parish Sheriffs responded to a complaint in the 200 block of Murial Street on Dec. 28. 2023 in reference to an armed robbery, said officials. Deputies reported that the victim was walking in the area of LA 398 and LA 663 when he was approached by a male subject who attacked him. Shortly after, multiple subjects wearing masks, some of which were armed, robbed him of cash, authorities said. During the investigation, deputies said they allegedly identified and secured arrests warrants for Jedarrius Jaylon Brown. According to authorities, Brown was most recently being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility on local charges there.
