Lego Technic unveils Aston Martin Valkyrie

Lego has unveiled its latest Technic set, which is a detailed recreation of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, courtesy of a partnership with the British marque. Comprising more than 700 pieces, the set meticulously replicates the Valkyrie's iconic aerodynamic shape. The physical model is part of a broader tie-in that includes integration into the mobile racing game Asphalt Legends Unite. Players will be able to race both the real-world Valkyrie and its Lego counterpart in-game, as part of a collaboration between Lego, Aston Martin, and developer Gameloft. The actual Valkyrie needs a little introduction. Co-developed by Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing's Adrian Newey, it combines Formula One technology with road-going usability if that term can be loosely applied to a car producing 838kW and sprinting from 0–100km/h in just 2.5s. Its naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, built by Cosworth, revs to over 11 000r/min and is assisted by an electric motor in the hybrid system. These include a V12 engine with moving pistons, a steering system controlled by a top-mounted lever, and functional gullwing-style doors. It also features the same Podium Green livery seen on the real car. Lego states the set is designed for advanced builders, with the complexity of the build reflecting the technical ambition of the original vehicle. The model is due to go on sale from July 1. As for the gaming crossover, it's not the first time Lego has collaborated with a racing title to extend its physical sets into virtual experiences. However, combining the high-performance Valkyrie with a Lego version may help reach a broader audience, particularly younger fans who may be more familiar with racing games than the hypercar segment. While collaborations like these may be seen as brand-building exercises, they also demonstrate the growing trend of blending physical and digital experiences in the automotive world. For those who cannot afford a multimillion-rand hypercar, a scaled-down version made by Lego offers a far more accessible way to engage with one of the most ambitious cars ever built. Lego Technic and Aston Martin release 700+ piece Valkyrie

Lego and Aston Martin have teamed up to launch a new Technic model based on the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, one of the brand's most extreme performance cars to date. The release forms part of a collaboration with Asphalt Legends Unite, the mobile and console racing game developed by Gameloft. Both the full-size Valkyrie and its Lego Technic counterpart are now available as playable cars in-game. The real-world Valkyrie was developed using Formula One technology, with input from renowned F1 designer Adrian Newey, who recently joined the Aston Martin F1 team. Powered by a hybrid V12 engine, the Valkyrie delivers 838kW and can accelerate from 0—100km/h in 2.5 seconds. The Lego Technic version consists of more than 700 pieces and features working gullwing doors, a functioning V12 engine with moving pistons, a top-mounted steering lever and a working differential. The model replicates the original's aerodynamic design and comes finished in Aston Martin's Podium Green livery. The Lego Technic Aston Martin Valkyrie is now available worldwide via and selected retailers.

These F1 Lego Technic sets are a must for any racing fan

Lego and F1's collaboration is one of my favourites. Lego has already produced sets for F1 teams over the years including Aston Martin, Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes. And now, there are a bunch of new Lego sets in the collection that are a must for any racing fan. The main event is the Lego Technic Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car. This 1361-piece behemoth comes with front and rear suspension, a two-speed gearbox, and a V6 engine so detailed it might as well start itself. You even get Pirelli-branded slicks and a functioning DRS, because Lego decided on the most elite levels of authenticity. Alongside it are three more stunners joining the Technic garage: the Aston Martin Valkyrie, Ferrari FXX K, and Lamborghini Revuelto Super Sports Car. These aren't your average toy cars. The Valkyrie, for instance, rocks gullwing doors and a working V12 engine. The Ferrari FXX K is all fire-engine red flair with butterfly doors and the kind of detailing that makes you wish it was full size rather than Lego. Then there's the Lamborghini Revuelto, the boldest of the bunch. It comes with glow-in-the-dark headlights and Control+ app integration that lets you pretend you're in the driver's seat while sitting in your pyjamas. You can take all three for a spin in Asphalt Legends Unite, just in case your thumbs aren't getting enough action. The Lego Technic Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car is already available to order from Lego, priced at $229.99/£199.99. The Aston Martin Valkyrie is up for pre-order from 1 June for $73.99/£55.99. The Ferrari FXX K and Lamborghini Revuelto follow on 1 August, for $73.99/£55.99 and $202.99/£152.99, respectively.

Aston Martin THOR Team Shows Off Its Valkyrie IMSA Setup

Read the full story on Backfire News This weekend, the Aston Martin Valkyrie makes its IMSA debut at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. To get fans pumped for the endurance race, IMSA recently did a video walkaround of one of the Team THOR cars with Ian James, the team cool about the racecar is it uses the road-going Aston Martin Valkyrie as the base, the team building an endurance machine off that. In fact, it's the only entry in IMSA's GTP category that's derived from a road-legal car. Among the technological wonders of the IMSA Valkyrie is the carbon fiber chassis that's been designed specifically for the series. However, the overall shape of the body is different, allowing air to flow around and through in ways you don't see with other racecars. In the chassis is a torsion bar suspension with a third leaf in the rear sitting up high by the engine, all of it highly tunable. There are adjustable roll bars, which are controlled by the driver from the cockpit via cable controls. The Cosworth-built 6.5-liter V12 has an 11,000 rpm redline, which you can hear when it speeds by on the track. However, instead of the 1,000-bhp pumping out like in the production hypercar, the racecar version only makes 680-bhp per hypercar regulations, so it is detuned. James says his drivers 'love' the engine, describing it as 'tactile' and 'smooth.' To your average person, that means nothing, but if you're an enthusiast or even better have done some racing, you know what a difference smooth power delivery makes. But that V12 makes the Valkyrie not only sound amazing but stick out in the field where small engines combined with a hybrid electric drive system are used by all the other teams. However, you won't hear the howling V12 as the Valkyrie is leaving pit lane, thanks to a fascinating device called 'the Startinator.' That sounds make up, but James explains in the video it's a starter motor, alternator, and a motor all in one. In fact, that little box is what's used for the hypercar's reverse gear, not the transmission. Image via Aston Martin
