York Restaurant Week breaks all records

The latest York Restaurant Week has broken all previous records, with new highs in participation, voucher downloads and economic impact. Running from Monday March 10 to Sunday March 23, this special fortnight-long edition saw an incredible 124 local businesses take part, offering a total of 255 exclusive food and drink deals to hungry diners across the city. Foodies responded in full force, with a record-breaking 32,679 vouchers downloaded – a 45% increase compared to the October 2024 event. York BID says the estimated economic impact of the March campaign hit an impressive £579,770, marking a 46% uplift on the previous edition and bringing the cumulative total impact across 11 events to over £2.4 million. Chris Bush, York BID Business Manager and event coordinator, said: "We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this spring's edition of York Restaurant Week. 'The figures speak for themselves – not only have we seen more venues and offers than ever before, but the engagement from the public has been phenomenal. 'It's a testament to the strength and resilience of York's hospitality industry and the appetite from residents and visitors to support and enjoy local dining." 'However, the main reason is that, whilst our menus are always described as great value for money, we get to offer our loyal return guests an even more affordable meal out whilst showcasing our menu to whole audience who may have not tried our restaurant before. 'With so many places to visit in York, we feel as if York Restaurant Week allows guests to get a little braver in trying new places. With so many people saying they will be back – the results speak for themselves, and we will definitely sign up again.' Organised by York Business Improvement District (York BID), York Restaurant Week aims to champion the city's diverse food scene while supporting footfall and spending across the city centre. York BID says the event returns in October 2025, promising even more opportunities to experience York's fantastic food and drink at unbeatable prices. For more information, visit:
