Vultures Athletics Club hosts 5km and 10km race
SEBOKENG.- Vultures Athletics Club will host the Gigima 5km and 10km scheduled at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the race organiser, Petrus Mohalajeng.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mohalajeng said the race will start at 8:00 and 8:15, respectively.
The entry fee for 10km is R150 and for 5km is R50.
The winner in the open category will receive R400, the runner-up R300, and the third position will receive R200. In the Junior category, the winner will receive R300, and the second place will get R200. The winner in the veteran category will receive R300, and the second place will get R200. The first 50 runners will receive T-shirts and goody bags. Mohalajeng said there will also be a lucky draw on race day. The race will be run under the rules and regulations of Athletics South Africa and Athletics Vaal Triangle.
Mohalajeng confirmed with Sedibeng Ster Sport that the 10 km participants must be 16 years or older on the day of the race. Participants of the 5km race must be 12 years or older to be accepted on the day.
