Atmosphere Core signs its first Nepal resort

Atmosphere Core has signed its first resort in Nepal, Aarunya Nature Resort by Atmosphere, located in the valleys of Banepa, just outside Kathmandu. The 25-acre resort, developed in partnership with Lost Horizon Jungle Resort Limited, will offer a slower, more soulful travel experience, surrounded by misty hills and sacred trails. The resort will feature 51 thoughtfully designed cottages and suites, each framing the Himalayan landscape through large windows and warm interiors. The resort will also feature a wellness sanctuary by Atmosphere Core's award-winning brand, ELE|NA, offering a blend of time-honoured therapies and modern wellness in a setting that embraces stillness and silence. Guests can explore a host of recreational experiences, including nature walks, cultural immersions, and family-friendly activities. An inviting swimming pool and dedicated kids' club will cater to every kind of traveler, from solitude seekers to families and groups. The resort will open in Q4 2025 and will bring the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand's philosophy to life in one of South Asia's most wonder-filled landscapes. Elaborating on this strategic expansion, Salil Panigrahi, Group Managing Director Atmosphere Core, said 'Nepal is fast emerging as a key destination in South Asia's luxury hospitality landscape, and travellers are increasingly seeking immersive, offbeat destinations. With properties coming up in Maldives, India, and Sri Lanka, Aarunya Nature Resort is a natural next step. Our distinctive Holiday Plan concept opens up destinations once reserved for the global elite. It's about making these spaces more accessible without compromising on authenticity. Aarunya Nature Resort by Atmosphere is more than a resort, it's a way to truly experience Nepal, its stories, its rituals, its generous spirit'. Gyanendra Lal Pradhan, Chairman of Lost Horizon Jungle Resort Limited, echoed the sentiment, 'Partnering with Atmosphere Core is a natural fit. Their approach to hospitality is both grounded in global service standards and elevated by unique experiences – exactly what we envisioned for Aarunya. Surrounded by cultural treasures and iconic trails, like the path to the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery in Namobuddha, Banepa is emerging as a mindful luxury destination. It blends history, spirituality, and natural beauty in a way that few places can. We're proud to be shaping something special here, together'.

Maldives based Atmosphere Core, a hotel management company has announced plans to expand in India and Indian ocean region by offering unique experiences and differentiated products to couples and guests said it's co founder & managing director Salil Panigrahi in an interview. An all-women managed hotel will be open in Bhopal soon for the company to commence its Indian operations, he said. 'We were the first one in Asia to operate the fast couples only all powered by women managed hotel in the Maldives which is a huge success. And we are trying to get that success story to India. We are opening a hotel in Bhopal, which will be managed by women only,' he said. The company which started in 2014 today offers 9% of the total hotel inventory in the Maldives, starting from four to five star luxury and uber luxury resort properties. 'But in India, as we are more of an experiential hotel brand, we will be focusing less on the cities. We will be in holiday cities like Bengaluru, will focus more on leisure cities and scenic places, places with nature like we are in,' he pointed out. The company is looking at North, Northeast India for growth. One hotel is coming up in Kolkata and it is looking at Goa as well. 'Most of our hotels in India would be experiential hotels. Let's put this way more leisure, more experiential. We will not be doing business hotels,' he emphasised. He said the company is increasing its footprint in Middle East and Africa for wildlife nature. It has sighed one property in Italy which is an old monastery that has been converted into a heritage hotel. The company is looking at Nepal and Bhutan markets, he said. Agility fuels Atmosphere Core's bold journey forward

Atmosphere Core, a leading hospitality company in the Indian Ocean region, celebrated a milestone year in 2024, launching its ninth resort, RAAYA by Atmosphere, and achieving remarkable results despite geopolitical challenges. Chief Commercial Officer Stéphane Laguette attributes this success to agility. 'Agility at Atmosphere Core is a mindset. It enables us to adapt swiftly, anticipate guest preferences, and drive innovation even in complex market conditions,' said Laguette. 2024 Achievements A standout success was the rapid launch of RAAYA by Atmosphere, achieving rebranding, operational readiness, and market entry in just three months. 'Our boutique size, free from bureaucracy, gives us a competitive edge, allowing fast decision-making, seamless collaboration, and strong commercial execution. The successful delivery of this project was a result of quicker corporate decision-making, collaboration, a strong global PR and sales network, and our extensive distribution system,' he said.. Last year, the brand also saw strong performance in European markets, expanded its presence within Asia, and entered new markets such as Spain, reflecting the effectiveness of its adaptive commercial strategies. 'We also maintained a commitment to sustainability, a key decision-making factor for travellers. All our resorts are Green Globe Certified, with four earning 'Gold Member' status. Across eight resorts, over 8,900 solar panels reduce our carbon footprint, while coral conservation remains a priority, with 290 coral frames planted to date. Six of our nine resorts actively manage coral conservation programmes and as of 2024, we have over 290 coral frames planted across our resorts. A prime example is the thriving coral garden at OBLU SELECT Sangeli, nurtured since 2019 by our in-house marine biologist. And, we have many more initiatives planned for 2025,' he said. Travel Trends for 2025 Luxury travel is evolving. It is more about personalised, unique experiences rather than simply lavish accommodation, such as the innovative Atmosphere Core Wine Program, Laguette continued. 'Partnering with five terroir wineries, latest being global Prosecco icon Bottega SpA this year, we bring exclusive vintages and sommelier-led masterclasses to our resorts. For instance, guests at OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI and OZEN LIFE MAADHOO can look forward to inspiring events with Bodegas Viñátigo and Guy Charbaut Champagne. We are also the only hotelier taking these experiences beyond our resorts, hosting immersive in-market wine dinners for travel partners at cities across the globe. 'The Maldives continues to emerge as a family-friendly destination, and our resorts cater to this demand with award-winning family facilities, kids' clubs, diverse dining, and curated Holiday Plans. Notably, Atmosphere Kanifushi has won several awards for family-friendly facilities and at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO families and couples can experience exceptional underwater gastronomy at M6m underwater restaurant,' he said. Plans for 2025: Expanding Horizons This year, the brand entered India's heritage hospitality space with Sadar Manzil Heritage by Atmosphere Bhopal, a meticulously restored 19th-century audience hall. Launched in March, this boutique luxury hotel, designed exclusively for couples, offers live music performances and an all-vegetarian menu celebrating the region's rich culinary traditions. 2025 also marks its first venture into Europe with Borgo Monchiero Heritage by Atmosphere in Piedmont, Italy. This carefully restored 18th-century monastery, dating back to 1773, offers an authentic experience of northern Italy's artistic and culinary heritage. 'Through our 'Heritage by Atmosphere' sub-brand under Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, we seamlessly blend history, culture, and indulgence, delivering on our brand promise, A New Experience Awaits,' he said. 'Continuing our momentum in India, this year will see the grand opening of OZEN MANSION KOLKATA, featuring 235 opulent rooms, world-class wellness facilities, and expansive event spaces, as well as STILLWOOD RETREAT A SIGNATURE ATMOSPHERE COORG and OZEN VILLAS JAIPUR. As we forge ahead, agility remains at the core of our journey, ensuring we stay ahead of industry trends while continuing to craft unforgettable guest experiences,' Laguette concluded. - TradeArabia News Service
