Adele Roberts cuts a cheerful figure outside Media City in Manchester after successfully completing global marathon challenge - two years after getting all-clear from bowl cancer

Adele Roberts looked in high spirits as she was seen making her exit from the TV Studios at Media City in Manchester on Wednesday. The radio presenter, 46, flashed a radiant smile as she headed out with her bags and large suitcase, sporting a waterproof jacket and green baseball cap. The TV star has been soaking up the high of achieving her incredible global running challenge in April, which saw her running a mammoth six marathons in eight months across the world. Adele decided to do the challenge in order to raise money for charities Cancer Research UK & The Attitude Magazine Foundation and awareness of bowel cancer and its symptoms. Writing on her JustGiving page, which has amassed a whopping £12,350, she explained: 'By doing this challenge I hope to give back to those who helped me & tirelessly help others.' Adele was diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2021 and documented her treatment on social media, which included undergoing colostomy surgery to remove a bowel tumour and having a stoma bag fitted. The TV star has been soaking up the high of achieving her incredible global running challenge in April, which saw her running a mammoth six marathons in eight months across the world After receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, nine months after being diagnosed Adele was declared cancer free, and now lives with a stoma bag, which she has named Audrey. She has continued her keen love of running despite battling her severe illness and this year became the fastest woman in history to complete the world's six major marathons in Boston, Tokyo, Berlin, Chicago, New York and London with a stoma. She completed the incredible achievement in April, with the London Marathon, finishing in an incredible three hours 36 minutes. The day of the race, Adele reflected on her Guinness Record from 2023, where she became the fastest person to ever run the marathon with a stoma bag, and broke down in tears as she looked back on how far she'd come. Sharing a video of her medal from the 2023 race, she said: 'I just thought I'd have a look at this just to remind me where I've been and what I'm capable of, because I'm really freaking out today. 'I don't want to let anyone down and I don't want to let this girl down, the girl that did this.' Adele also posted a video documenting her cancer battle and marathon journey, writing: 'For every precious soul affected by cancer, for their families, their friends… and for everyone living with a stoma. This is for you.' She continued: 'I can't think of a better way to celebrate #bowelcancerawarenessMonth than running the @londonmarathon to complete the challenge and hopefully set a new Guinness World Record in the process as the first and fastest woman with a stoma to complete all 6. 'I promise to give tomorrow my all - Just as I did after waking up from surgery. I will start small and dream big!! I will take it step by step… and each of those steps will lead me to the finish. 'And I know you will all be with me every step of the way. I will run with all you in my heart.' While she also paid tribute to her girlfriend, Kate Holderness, saying: 'Thank you for being there with me EVERY STEP OF THE WAY @kateholderness. You're the reason I never gave up. You're my hero and I know with you by my side I can never lose ❤️ xxx'. After completing the gruelling marathon, Adele was surprised with a message from her stoma nurse, Elaine, during an appearance on Lorraine. In a moving video, Elaine told her: 'You have inspired so many people and patients with stomas. You have been an absolute God send, you have been a person that others aim to aspire to. 'What a great accomplishment and thank you for carrying us along on that journey with you. Adele broke into tears seeing the message, as host Lorraine Kelly praised: 'I get it because the people that helped you to get back and be you again are so important and sometimes we forget'. Adele replied: 'Without a doubt, I always say cancer's a team effort and thanks to people like Elaine and the NHS, I couldn't have done it without them.' The Dancing On Ice star previously disclosed that she felt 'accountable' for her cancer scare and felt 'she was being punished for something'. She said: 'I totally thought that I had caused it [the cancer]. My first thought was 'Am I going to die?'. But once he [the doctor] said he could help me, it's all I held onto. 'And when he said it wasn't my fault that's when I just cried and got so emotional.'
