TN Cycling League 2025 gears up for Season 3 from June 7
Chennai, June 5 (UNI) The much-anticipated Tamil Nadu Cycling League (TCL) is set to return for its third season on June 7 and 8 at the iconic Napier Bridge in Chennai
on the Marina beach front.
This venue is notable for being part of the 3.5 km Chennai Formula Racing Circuit, which hosted an exhilarating night street race in August 2024, adding a thrilling motorsport legacy to the location.
The Tamil Nadu Cycling League is organized by the Tamil Nadu Cycling Association in partnership with the Greater Chennai Corporation, and powered by the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), this landmark event continues to celebrate the spirit of endurance, sportsmanship and sustainability.
This year, TCL not only brings together top-tier talent from across Tamil Nadu but also introduces an engaging community initiative the 'Green Ride' scheduled for June 8, 2025. This 2.5 km non-competitive ride invites cycling enthusiasts of all ages to "Pedal your way around the Island" and promote eco-conscious commuting. The Green Ride kicks off at 5:30 AM from Napier Bridge and is open to all with a nominal registration fee of Rs. 300.

With over 500 participants last year and a projected turnout of 1,500 this year, the enthusiasm for cycling is clearly gaining momentum, the organisers said.
The unwavering support from the Government of Tamil Nadu has been instrumental in this journey from actively promoting cycling culture to developing world-class infrastructure like the velodrome in Melakottaiyur, Chennai under the Khelo India initiative.
This year also marks a historic milestone as we introduce India's first Cyclothon event in Chennai. Such progressive steps reaffirm Tamil Nadu's position as a front-runner in promoting sports and nurturing talent at every level. Backed by prestigious past sponsors such as Nippon Paints and supported by brand partners and media houses, TCL Season 3 aims to be bigger and better than ever before. Participants can look forward to a wide range of open race categories including U-12 Boys & Girls, U-14 Boys & Girls
(Age: 12 to under 14), U-18 Boys & Girls (Age: 14 to under 18), Men's Open & Women's Open
(Age: 18 & above), TCL Team Time Trial.
The event will also feature professional league teams such as Kovai Pedals (winners of
Season 1 & 2), Namma Chennai Riders, Madras Pro Racers, Kumari Riders, Salem Super
Riders Rancycer, Trichy Rockfort Riders, Madurai Mass Riders
