Marionville woman accused of stealing $11,000 from Dollar General

MARIONVILLE, Mo. — A woman from Marionville is charged with stealing from a Dollar General she was employed at in her city. According to court records, Jessica Marie Hayes, born 1982, is charged with class D felony stealing in Lawrence County Associate Court. The probable cause statement said on January 11, 2025, an Aurora-Marionville Police Department officer was dispatched to a Dollar General store, where the officer made contact with a Dollar General regional asset protection manager. The asset protection manager told the officer Hayes had allegedly stolen $11,421.45 from 'multiple deposit bags she was responsible for depositing' between Dec. 12, 2024, and Jan. 7, 2025, according to the statement. The statement said evidence was provided through deposit slips, surveillance videos, opened deposit bags, and a flash drive containing an Excel spreadsheet documenting the multiple theft incidents. Hayes is due for a court appearance in May. If convicted, she faces up to seven years in prison. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
