Seer leads prayers for soldiers
Mysuru: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan,
Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swami
of the
Avadhoota Datta Peetham
, Mysuru, led heartfelt prayers for the well-being of Indian soldiers. At the ashram's Nada Mantapa, Swami recited verses from the
Bhagavad Gita
, invoking blessings for those guarding the nation's borders.
The occasion coincided with a medal and certificate distribution ceremony organised by the
International Gita Foundation
for students who excelled in the Bhagavad Gita examination. The event, held over two days, saw participants being recognised for their outstanding performance. Before the distribution, the seer performed a solemn Gita Parayana (recitation of the Bhagavad Gita) and offered prayers to Lord Krishna. He prayed for the safety and strength of Indian soldiers and for the souls of those who recently lost their lives in terrorist attacks, seeking peace for them in afterlife.
During the ceremony, he expressed his delight at the International Gita Foundation's initiative and praised the enthusiasm of participants, both young and old. He highlighted that around 5,000 individuals memorised the Bhagavad Gita so far—a significant spiritual milestone. He blessed the youngest achievers—six-year-olds Poorvanch Datta and Sisla Srihitha—who were awarded medals and certificates for passing the exam with distinction.

Equally inspiring was the achievement of the eldest participants, 79-year-olds Bramaramba Sevi and Sujatha, who also excelled in the exam and received accolades. Swamiji commended the efforts of all participants and organisers, emphasising the power of the Bhagavad Gita in nurturing spiritual strength and national devotion.
