Aviata at Emerald Shores celebrates Skilled Nursing Care Week
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – This week is National Skilled Nursing Care Week, recognizing the impact of nursing homes on the community.
Aspire at Emerald Shores Nursing Home received an official name change on Friday to Aviata at Emerald Shores.
The 77-bed skilled nursing facility provides short-term rehab for residents in-between hospital stays, and long-term care for those who need ongoing medical assistance.
The facility hosted a luau on Friday to celebrate National Skilled Nursing Care Week.
'We want to recognize our residents that we take care of on a daily basis. They receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy. And we have a great dietary staff and housekeeping staff as well. And the focus is on the care that we provide that are resident of our residence every week,' Aviata at Emerald Shores Administrator Ann Wounder said.
GetChewaBox food truck served the staff and patients food, and the Jam Kings band provided live music.
