Mexico mourns photographers killed in music festical mishap
Relatives and friends of two photographers killed in an accident over the weekend at a music festival in Mexico City paid tribute to their lost loved ones on Monday. The photographers covering the Axe Ceremonia festival died when a decorative structure collapsed on them Saturday. They were identified as Berenice Giles, 28, and Miguel Hernandez, 26. President Claudia Sheinbaum said it was an accident but clarified there should not be impunity. "We must see how that equipment that fell was set up," she told a news conference. The structure was being moved by a crane when it came crashing down. The accident happened Saturday evening, but the festival kept going until midnight, when it was eventually suspended. It had been scheduled to continue on Sunday with performances by the rapper Tyler The Creator and the British band Massive Attack, among other groups. The structure that fell had apparently been added after a final safety inspection, said officials in Miguel-Hidalgo, the Mexico City district that includes the park which hosted the music festival. jnb/st/sem/arm/dw/jgc

Two dead in Mexico music festival accident
Two people have died after a decorative structure at a Mexico City music festival collapsed on them, local authorities said. The structure was being moved by a crane at the Axe Ceremonia festival on Saturday when it fell on the victims who were brought to a hospital where they later died, the city's emergency response authority said in a statement. The Miguel Hidalgo district said festival organizers had used cranes that were not mentioned in the original event plan approved by authorities. District officials ordered the two-day festival suspended "until the facts are clarified". Around 20 artists were scheduled to perform on Sunday at the festival, which attracted thousands of people to the Mexican capital's Bicentennial Park. British acts Massive Attack and FKA Twigs were among the slated headliners. Festival organizers said in an Instagram post that they were working to contact the family members of the victims and "provide them with all the support they need."

FKA Twigs drops out of Coachella and reschedules more dates due to ‘visa issues'
FKA Twigs has said she is 'devastated' to drop out of the Coachella festival and reschedule more Eusexua tour dates due to ongoing visa issues. Last month, the 37-year-old singer postponed US dates after she said an error meant visa 'paperwork' was not submitted in time. She wrote on Saturday morning that she will not perform at both weekends of Coachella in Indio, California, later this month and Axe Ceremonia in Mexico City on Sunday. View this post on Instagram A post shared by FKA twigs (@fkatwigs) The Cheltenham-born singer said: 'I'm devastated to share the news that due to ongoing visa issues I am not able to see through any of my scheduled tour dates for the remainder of April across North America, including Ceremonia and Coachella. 'It pains me to say this because I am so excited to bring you a creation that I have poured my soul into and believe is amongst my strongest work and I know this news impacts so many of you that have already made plans and spent money in order to see these shows. 'I promise that I am working to reschedule the affected dates as quickly as possible. 'For headline shows, please refer to your point of purchase for details and refund information. Back to you all with more updates as soon as I have them — in the meantime here are some of my favourite parts of the show that we worked so hard to create.' She had been due to be at the Knockdown Centre in New York, and the Bill Graham Civic Centre in San Francisco, in April and is set for performances at Spanish festival Primavera Sound and Chicago's Salt Shed in June. The singer, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, just completed the UK and Europe leg of her tour with a performance in London on March 22. She has also rescheduled the first two dates of the tour in Prague and Berlin, citing 'shipping issues' as the reason. The tour comes after the singer released her third studio album Eusexua in January, which peaked at number three on the UK albums chart.
