Journey's Rock Anthem Continues To Power The Band On The Billboard Charts

Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin'' appears on four Billboard charts as the band's Greatest Hits album ... More climbs again, nearing 850 total weeks on the Billboard 200. (L-R) American rock guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist, Neal Schon, English drummer, Aynsley Dunbar, American singer and keyboardist, Gregg Rolie, American singer and songwriter, Steve Perry and American musician, Ross Valory, of the American rock band Journey, pose for a group portrait circa August, 1978 in San Francisco, California. (Photo by) Journey has enjoyed decades of commercial success at this point, and while the band isn't churning out new hits, the group's catalog continues to remain of great interest to a huge population. The band is back in a big way on multiple Billboard charts, with both a signature song and one of its most successful collections. As has been the case for years now, much of that success is thanks to 'Don't Stop Believin'' — a track that's more than just a fan favorite. It's a true classic, and one of the most successful rock songs in American history, and it's powering the act's continued ascent. Journey's anthem 'Don't Stop Believin'' lands on four Billboard charts this week, and its performance varies wildly depending on which list one is looking at. In the U.S., the track reappears on the Rock Digital Song Sales tally, where it returns at No. 13. The song fares slightly better on the Rock Streaming Songs ranking, keeping to No. 12. 'Don't Stop Believin'' isn't just a hit in America — it's still a global smash as well, as the single continues to place on both of Billboard's worldwide charts. On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., it rises slightly to No. 128, gaining ground despite the steady influx of new music. At the same time, it slips on the more competitive Billboard Global 200, falling from No. 100 to No. 110. While 'Don't Stop Believin'' is the star of Journey's discography, the band's wider catalog is also enjoying a lift. Greatest Hits – the bestselling compilation that has already made rock history many years ago — rises on three different Billboard tallies at once. On the Top Rock Albums ranking, the title surges from No. 18 to No. 14, edging closer to finding its way to the top 10 once more. It performs nearly as well on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list, where it lifts from No. 21 to No. 17. Its biggest gain comes on the all-genre Billboard 200, where Greatest Hits leaps 16 spaces, improving from No. 93 to No. 77. That upward movement brings the compilation one frame closer to hitting an exceptionally rare milestone. Greatest Hits is fast approaching 850 total weeks on the Billboard 200 — an almost unheard-of achievement that places it among the longest-charting albums in the ranking's history.
