WWE Friday Night Smackdown: Start time, TV, live stream, confirmed match card
After a successful European tour, WWE is back on American soil for Friday Night Smackdown. With just over three weeks until WWE's biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 41, the road to Las Vegas could yet be a bumpy one for several Superstars. Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Seth Rollins will main event night one in a highly anticipated triple threat match on 'the grandest stage of them all', though following last week's contract signing, the WWE Universe is still in the dark over what exactly the favour Punk is owed by Paul Heyman. As Smackdown will air live from Chicago, Illinois, could the hometown hero share a little more information about that said favour? Reigns is advertised to appear too, so an intriguing showdown between the WrestleMania opponents is on the cards. With that said, here's everything you need to know about the April 4th episode of WWE Smackdown. The latest edition WWE Smackdown is scheduled to start at 1am BST (8pm ET) in the early hours of Saturday morning, lasting until 4am. The how will take place at the Allstate Arena, Chicago, Illinois. Those with a subscription can watch WWE Smackdown live on Netflix at no additional cost, while they can also catch up in full after the show. A standard subscription costs £4.99 a month and it can be cancelled at any time. Meanwhile, in Women's division B-Fab seeks revenge against Naomi after being attacked from behind last week whilst accompanying Michin to the ring for a match with Charlotte Flair. Furthermore, WWE has officially announced that Rey Fenix will make his debut for the company. A match has been teased, though the identity of his opponents hasn't been revealed. AJ Francis Responds To Swerve Strickland's Comments About Hit Row's WWE Release
Photo Credit: WWE AJ Francis gives his side of the story regarding Hit Row's WWE release. Earlier this week, All Elite Wrestling's Swerve Strickland appeared on VladTV. While discussing Hit Row's WWE release. Strickland said he heard that a member of the group was 'aggressive' on the phone with someone in the office regarding B-Fab's status with the company, which led to the group getting released later on. While Strickland didn't mention AJ Francis by name, many fans made the correlation. Upon seeing quotes from the interview, Francis took to social media to address the allegations, tweeting out: Advertisement 'Apparently I was an 'aggressive black man' for standing up for a black woman. And I'll be that time and time again. *Money bag emoji*,' AJ Francis said in a post. Francis would later respond to a fan who said it was his duty to speak up for B-Fab, tweeting out: 'Not ONE person has EVER said what I said that was 'aggressive' or 'disrespectful' in any way because it never happened. That's why we got rehired. *Money bag emoji*,' AJ Francis said in response. AJ Francis says Swerve Strickland knows what he heard was bullshit When another fan stated that Swerve said he got aggressive, Francis said Swerve just said what he heard despite knowing what he heard was bullshit,' tweeting back: Advertisement 'He said he didn't know what happened. He said what he heard. What he heard was some bullshit and he knows that. Take that how you want to,' AJ Francis said in response. While Hit Row was later brought back to WWE without Swerve Strickland, who was already signed with AEW, Francis was released again by the company a second time. Francis currently works for TNA Wrestling as the leader of the group Fir$t Cla$$. Francis also addressed the allegations in a new interview on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez. There, Francis said he wasn't about to watch his friends get fired from WWE and felt compelled to say something. 'I'm just supposed to be cool with her being gone? Clearly — she's back and doing everything, so clearly I was fuckin' right! But I say that, supposedly I'm the asshole,' Francis pointed out. 'So stand on it! Why does WWE Smackdown have a special start time tonight? UK live stream and confirmed match card
The road to WWE WrestleMania 41 is underway and tonight Smackdown has stopped off in Barcelona, Spain. Hot on the heels of Monday Night Raw where Roman Reigns made his shocking return to attack Seth Rollins and CM Punk in the middle of their steel cage match, it is certainly an exciting time for the WWE Universe. Attentions now turn to Friday Night Smackdown and the build for WrestleMania which takes place in Las Vegas across two days next month. Cody Rhodes is expected to address the WWE universe once again after being on the receiving end of an attack by John Cena at the Elimination Chamber PLE at the beginning of the month. The latest edition of WWE Smackdown on Netflix is already underway. In fact, the show began at 7pm GMT (8pm EST) on Friday evening. This marks a significant change as previously whenever WWE aired shows from the UK, they'd air on a delay to fit with the US broadcast times which would have been 1am for the UK audience. However, that's all changed with the Netflix deal. Those with a subscription can watch WWE Smackdown live right now on Netflix at no additional cost, while they can also catch up in full after the event.
