The Big Ten women's lacrosse tournament begins on Wednesday, April 23, as seven teams compete to see who will win the conference crown and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Defending national runners-up Northwestern earned the No. 1 seed in the conference after going a perfect 8-0 this season. As the top seed, the Wildcats earned a first-round bye. Northwestern is currently ranked No. 4 in the country and are one of the favorites for the national championship.
Hot on their heels are Maryland and Johns Hopkins. The Terps are ranked No. 7 in the country and earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament while the Blue Jays are right behind them at No. 8 in the country, though thanks to a tiebreaker loss are the No. 5 seed in the Big Ten tournament.
