Debut Rainbow Ball at Scarborough Spa raises £20,000 for charity

A charity ball in Scarborough has raised £20,000. The Rainbow Centre's first-ever Rainbow Ball, held in Scarborough Spa's Ocean Room on Saturday (June 7), was a sold-out event. BBC Gladiator winner Joe Fishburn was among the attendees. A three-course dinner was served, while Paddy Billington, of This is the Coast, entertained guests. In the words of a spokesperson, the "emotional centrepiece" of the event was a speech delivered by The Rainbow Centre's CEO, Jo Laking. James Howard, fundraising officer at The Rainbow Centre, said: "What a night, and what an experience. "The first Rainbow Ball will stay with people for all the right reasons. "The support we've received from local businesses and the public has been truly humbling. "Coming together like we did on Saturday - and will again in the future - helps ensure we remain a pillar of strength for those in our community who need us most." A second Rainbow Ball will take place in June 2026.

Sue Murphy, head of factual entertainment at ITV, said: 'We're thrilled that our very own father and son dynamic duo are back on the road, this time unleashing their inimitable charm onto unsuspecting Asia, as Barney continues to push Brad way beyond his comfort zones.'
