Benalec wins coal transport job from TNB Fuel Services, contract runs for two years
BENALEC Holdings Bhd has secured a two-year contract of affreightment from TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd to transport coal, with freight rates ranging from US$4.84 to US$88.75 per metric tonne depending on voyage routes.
The contract, which began on June 6, allows Benalec to transport up to 3.5 million metric tonnes of coal annually, with a 20% variation option.
Payments will be made in ringgit, it told the bourse today.
TNB Fuel Services, a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Bhd, supplies coal to power plants across Malaysia.
Benalec previously managed similar coal transport contracts from 2019 to 2022. –TMR
