Cong activists upset as appointments to boards, corps remain pending

Mysuru: Even two years after the Congress formed govt in the state, activists are upset as a majority of the state govt's boards and corporation members' posts are pending. Meanwhile, the party's senior functionaries assured that by the end of this month, all posts will be filled. According to the party activists, even though the party returned to power after a gap of five years in 2023, state govt is yet to take up the full-fledged nominations/appointments for the various boards and corporations. "If these appointments are delayed further, it will disappoint the party activists ahead of the upcoming MCC, ZP, and TP elections," said a Congress leader from the city. "Congress needs to learn lessons from BJP and JD(S). They are quick in filling boards and corporations during their administration to ensure that party activists get power. However, the Congress-led govt has now adopted a delay tactic, which caused heartburn for the activists who worked for the party for years together," said a party fucntionary from the city. "ZP, TP, and MCC elections are fast approaching. The party must ensure representation for the activists," he urged. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Düsseldorf: GEERS sucht 700 Testhörer vor 1972 geboren GEERS Undo Earlier, KPCC working president and Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait also echoed a similar sentiment. He urged the state Congress unit and the govt to take up the nominations/appointments for boards and corporations on a priority basis. Mysuru district Congress committee president BJ Vijayakumar informed that CM Siddaramaiah is likely to approve the appointments by the end of this month. "We sent a list of 1,300 party activists to govt for appointments two years ago. The names were shortlisted based on social justice, service to the party, and other parameters. Those who didn't get any opportunities earlier were also included in the list. CM assured that the appointments will be done by the end of this month," he said.
