Less than four months after making its debut on Jacksonville's Northside, B Mac's Buffet has closed.
The restaurant, at 900 Dunn Ave., Unit 10, in the Publix-anchored Highland Square shopping center, closed in recent days. A handwritten sign taped to a front window confirmed that the restaurant was permanently closed.
The location was the third for the six-year-old Waycross, Ga.-based chain that brought its concept to Northeast Florida in October 2023 with the opening of a buffet in Callahan at 542225 U.S. 1.
According to a state licensing database, the Callahan location, too, had closed.

Known for its menu of steak, seafood, fried chicken, pork chops, wings and other freshly made classic Southern fare, B Mac's Buffet was the first among several new Jacksonville buffets open or in the works.
Owner Johnathan McKinney, with 25 years of restaurant experience, told the Times-Union in February that he planned to open at least two more buffets in Florida and rapidly expand the concept.
"In five years? I'd like to have 100 restaurants in Florida and beyond," he said at the time.
Three other buffets are expected to open in Jacksonville in the coming months. All are planned for former Red Lobster restaurants that closed a year ago. They include:
Mikata Buffet, 8720 Baymeadows Road
Fushimi Grill & Modern Buffet, 13090 City Station Drive
Gogi Korean BBQ, 416 Commerce Center Drive
