Brazil Unveils BRICS Vocational Education Priorities to Boost Workforce Innovation

Israa Farhan Brazil has put forward a strategic agenda to enhance cooperation in vocational education among BRICS nations, positioning technical and vocational education and training (TVET) as a critical driver of sustainable economic growth and social development. At a recent high-level meeting of the BRICS TVET Cooperation Alliance (BRICS TCA), hosted by Brazil's Ministry of Education, member states convened to discuss expanding access to education, aligning skills with market demands, and fostering innovation across educational systems. The gathering brought together senior officials from education ministries, academic institutions, and international organisations representing Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and partner countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and the UAE. Francisco Figueiredo, Special Advisor to the Brazilian Minister of Education, underscored BRICS' vital role in facilitating policy exchange, collaborative innovation, and direct partnerships between TVET institutions. Marcelo Bregagnoli, State Secretary for Technological and Professional Education, highlighted that more than 2.5 million students are currently enrolled in secondary vocational programmes in Brazil, with over 1.5 million studying in public institutions—a record number according to the 2024 census. The meeting concluded with the identification of three core priorities for future collaboration: improving access and quality of vocational education for youth, reinforcing its role in national economic strategies, and integrating advanced technologies and innovative pedagogies. China's delegate, Zhai Jinming, noted the growing impact of BRICS TCA as a platform for joint research, student and faculty exchanges, and cross-border educational initiatives. By aligning education strategies with emerging global trends and labour market needs, BRICS countries aim to future-proof their workforces and deepen cooperation across borders, laying the foundation for inclusive and resilient development. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
