SHAH ALAM, June 27 — Police have received seven reports from motorists whose cars were damaged while parked near the Glenmarie Light Rail Transit (LRT) station here, allegedly by a passing heavy vehicle yesterday. District police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said investigations revealed that the incident, which occurred at around 2.10pm, happened when the owners had parked their cars along the roadside to take the LRT to work. He said the owners were horrified to find their vehicles damaged in various parts upon returning to the LRT station. 'As of 4 pm this afternoon (Thursday), the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of the Shah Alam police headquarters has received seven police reports related to the incident. 'The investigating officer is sourcing for closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the nearby areas to identify the vehicle (or party) responsible and the case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959,' he said in a statement today. The public with related information is asked to contact BSPT investigating officer Insp Abdul Nasser Peping at 012-2863875. — Bernama

'As of 4 pm this afternoon (Thursday), the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of the Shah Alam police headquarters has received seven police reports related to the incident,' he said in a statement. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the responsible party. The case is being probed under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959. A lorry driver spotted the elderly man at a main highway in Johor. He recorded part of the incident and posted it on his Tiktok account. Worried for the man's safety, the lorry driver can be heard shouting and honking to alert him that he was riding on the wrong side of the road. However, the man didn't seem to notice and continued riding. What made the situation even more concerning was that he wasn't wearing a helmet. Looking into the comments section, many netizens expressed concern for his safety. Some also alleged that the elderly man might be suffering from hearing and memory problems. As the video spread across social media, the police has been alerted and began investigating. According to Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M Kumarasan, they were informed that the man, aged 80, was riding a blue Yamaha Lagenda against traffic for 700 metres heading north at Kilometre 24 of the Malaysia–Singapore Second Link Expressway (Linkedua). 'We successfully located him and brought him to the Iskandar Puteri District Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) to assist in the investigation,' he said in a media statement. Kumarasan stated that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which relates to driving recklessly and dangerously to the extent of endangering other road users. SHAH ALAM: A restaurant worker was killed early this morning when he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and skidded at Kilometre 5.1 of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), heading from Setia Alam towards Kuala Lumpur. Shah Alam district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said investigations revealed that the incident occurred at around 9.15am and involved a car, a trailer, and a motorcycle. "Investigations found that the accident happened when the victim, a 22-year-old local man, was riding his motorcycle on his way to work at a restaurant in Bukit Damansara. "Upon arriving at the scene, the victim lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into the left rear corner of a Honda HR-V driven by a 64-year-old woman who was travelling straight in the far-right lane. "The victim was then thrown to the left lane and struck by the rear tyre of a trailer, the registration number of which has yet to be identified. "Investigations revealed that the accident caused the rider to suffer serious injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement today. Iqbal added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. "Police are currently tracking down eyewitnesses to the incident. Any independent witnesses or members of the public with relevant information are urged to assist the investigation by contacting the Investigating Officer from the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Division (BSPT) of the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters, Inspector Abdul Nasser Peping, at 012-2863875.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Police have tracked down the trailer driver caught on video driving recklessly with a tilted load on the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) recently. In a statement today, Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, said an investigation was launched as soon as the video went viral on social media last Tuesday. He said the Subang Jaya District Police Headquarters' Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) located the driver at a company in Negeri Sembilan at 3pm yesterday. 'During questioning, the 23-year-old driver admitted to being negligent while operating the vehicle,' he said. A summons was issued under the Traffic Rules, LN 18 166/1959 (dangerous and unsecured load). 'The driver's negligence poses a danger to other road users,' he said. Wan Azlan added that drivers found guilty of failing to secure their loads properly under the Traffic Offences Rules could face a fine of up to RM2,000. In the 36-second video, the southbound trailer was seen carrying a container in a tilted position, believed to be due to improper securing.
