(Video) From Joking Around To Practising Local Songs: What Happened Backstage At BTOB's KL Show
BTOB (비투비) just dropped the behind-the-scenes video from their '3, 2, 1 GO! MELympic' fan-concert in Kuala Lumpur from April 19, 2025. Being a fly on the wall in this scenario might've led to some melting and serious fangirling (or fanboying) – see the time they became school boys for reference. From the group that brought you 'Pray (I'll Be Your Man)' and 'Missing You', the aegyo was off the charts, all this while doing the serious prep work for putting on a show. Whether it was mic checks, playful banter about 'fried rice,' or last-minute Malay practice, how are they just as charming behind the curtains as on stage? The video opens with the members greeting each other and preparing for rehearsal. Despite leader Eunkwang's (은광) ankle injury, he is seen energetically participating in the rehearsal while seated, unable to resist dancing from the waist up. Mic checks, warm-up banter, and playful moments. At one point, the group discovered the name of the concert's organiser, Fried Rice Entertainment, only to mistake it for a catering company. In another memorable segment, the group practised part of the local classic 'Saya Anak Malaysia', expressing excitement to connect with their Malaysian fans in a more personal way. Hyunsik (현식) even went full multilingual, practising four languages—Korean, English, Chinese, and Malay—for the fan interaction moments. Just before the concert, Eunkwang lamented missing his chance to snap a selfie in a beret outfit due to a quick costume change, prompting a mini photo mission backstage. The vlog also features snippets of the members getting ready in their custom-made T-shirts, optimising their cuteness for the acts later, and sharing thoughts on reconnecting with Melodys in Malaysia after a seven-year wait. During the MELympic games, Peniel (프니엘) and Minhyuk (민혁) shine as they lead their teams during the fan-interactive portion of the concert, filled with competitive shooting games, ball-rolling races, and a lighthearted aegyo competition. The energy from Melodys in the crowd really lifted the group's spirits, making it the highlight of the video. Toward the end, fans surprised BTOB with a touching tribute video and group sing-along, visibly moving the members. In return, BTOB expressed their gratitude and love, promising to return to Malaysia soon. Eunkwang commented, 'Seven years' worth of energy just exploded all at once,' which captures the emotional weight of the reunion. As the video ended, the members shared their reflections. The boys expressed their love and commented, 'This was a nice chance to recharge from the fan love', before warping space and time by teleporting to their next stop—Hong Kong. K-pop Group BTOB Dons Malaysian School Uniform At Recent Fansign Event In Korea
Many foreign stars have worn traditional Malaysian garments, typically when they visit Malaysia. However, K-pop group BTOB (비투비) recently donned a different Malaysian outfit, prompting excited responses from fans. Over the weekend, the group held a fansign event in Seoul for their latest release, 'BTODAY'. In K-pop culture, it's common for fans to present clothes and accessories to the idols during fansign events to make for more interesting photos. As such, several Malaysian fans gifted the BTOB members local school uniforms to wear during the event. The uniforms even included name tags and a custom-made school logo. As shown in pictures taken during the event, members Eunkwang (은광), Hyunsik (현식), Peniel (프니엘) and Minhyuk (민혁) looked dashing in their school uniforms, complete with matching ties. The set also came with the accompanying green trousers, but Peniel was the only one who wore them on stage. The photos went viral amongst local fans, with many saying the idols looked adorable in their Malaysian school uniforms. The fans behind the school uniform project detailed the creative process of the interesting gift, including the logo design. According to one of the fans, Reena, the idea came about after learning that a friend had won a spot in the fansign event. Initially, they thought to use a random school emblem for the uniform, but decided against it as it felt inappropriate. They then enlisted the help of another fan to design a custom school badge and motto based on BTOB. The fans also ordered name tags and the Malaysian flag to match the current guidelines for school uniforms. Once the uniforms were ready, the garments were brought to Seoul and presented to BTOB. The fans received praise for their efforts, and some netizens even said they consider doing the same for their favourite idol groups. Kudos to the group of local Melodys (BTOB fans) for their creative gift! The boys also seemed to love the uniforms, so we're sure they'll remember your gift for a long time!
