#NSTviral: Small Thai pharmacy's big heart wins over Netizens
KUALA LUMPUR: A Thai pharmacist has received praise online after providing free fever medicine to a father who could not afford treatment for his daughter.
The owner of Baan Look Moo Drug Store in Samut Sakhon shared the story last week on her TikTok account, @aoffyza.1842.
The video has gone viral since and has been reproduced on Malaysian social media accounts.
The father went to the drug store to get medicine for his daughter, but he said that he couldn't afford it, Thai-based English language media company Thaiger reported today.
The pharmacist, also known as Aoffy, said: "I have a small shop but a big heart.
"The man came to my store in the morning and asked for medicine for his child, who had a fever.
"He said he had no money, so I gave it to him."
She said that the man returned in the evening with his daughter to thank her as her symptoms had improved.
"I gave the girl a pack of gummies before they left. I'm so happy today," she said in the video.
She said that she had noticed the man pacing outside her store, appearing hesitant.
He was carrying two packs of fever-reducing patches from a convenience store, leading her to suspect he had exhausted his funds.
Aoffy was surprised that the man came back to thank her, as she had not expected anything in return.
Since opening her pharmacy, Aoffy said she has offered free medication and discounts to those in need.
Netizens in Thailand and Malaysia swarmed the comments section and shared reposts with heartwarming remarks.
The video caught the attention of Engfa Waraha, the first runner-up of Miss Grand International 2022.
She expressed her desire to help the father and the child.
