Yemeni coffee shop, new Mediterranean restaurant planned for Burnsville
Plans to bring Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. and a new Mediterranean restaurant to Burnsville are in the works.
Franchisee Anan Barbarawi plans to remodel the building at 12901 Aldridge Avenue South and bring the fast-growing coffee shop and Baba Saj, a counter-service eatery with two locations in the greater Chicago area, under one roof.
The remodel will include the addition of a drive-through and outdoor seating area, according to an application set to go before the Burnsville City Council on April 8.
Qamaria Yemini Coffee Co. in Little Canada became the Twin Cities' first Yemeni coffee shop when it opened last May. The café quickly expanded to Blaine and Eden Prairie.
Qamaria sources its coffee beans from Haraz, Yemen, which the company says produces some of the rarest coffee in the world due to its unique elevation, soil and climate.
Mediterranean restaurant and bakery Baba Saj specializes in shawarma wraps, falafel sandwhiches, flatbreads and bowls.
