Backstage Coffee celebrates pride month with new menu items
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — June is the month to celebrate inclusivity and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community, but one queer owned business prioritizes this year-round.
Backstage Coffee, a viral spot in Downtown Greenville, is owned by Anna and Mackenzie Park. They have new themes every month, but the month of June hits hardest especially when it comes to what the business stands for.
'It's not really a space that's offered anywhere else around here. And I know that there have been spaces in the past that people have really flocked to,' Co-Owner of Backstage Coffee Anna Park said. 'I don't think we understood the gravity of how large of a queer community there is.'
'I think that's a great example of just like this space creating that comfortability for people to like just feel accepted and safe no matter what,' Co-Owner of Backstage Coffee Mackenzie Park said. 'And that's been really special for us to watch and for us to create.'
Backstage is featuring a new Pride month menu along with the return of the fruity pebble latte. They will also host a vintage event on Saturday, June 14.
