Foreign Minister and Emigration Minister Badr Abdel-Atti CAIRO - 3 June 2025: Foreign Minister and Emigration Minister Badr Abdel-Atti received a high-level parliamentary delegation from the Republic of India on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the delegation's visit to Cairo. Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that during the meeting, Minister Abdel-Atti emphasized the aspiration to capitalize on the momentum witnessed in bilateral relations between Egypt and India in recent years. He stressed the importance of translating this momentum into concrete measures to enhance joint cooperation across various fields. The Minister highlighted the significance of activating the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the friendly peoples. He also noted the importance of leveraging the delegation's visit to Cairo to initiate institutional cooperation at the parliamentary level between Egypt and India and to explore new horizons for bilateral collaboration. Furthermore, the Foreign Minister underscored Egypt's solidarity with India following the terrorist attack that occurred in the city of Pahalgam in Kashmir on April 22, 2025. He referred to the phone call made by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the wake of the incident, as well as the communications between Minister Abdel-Atti and his Indian counterpart. This, he noted, embodies the depth of relations between the two countries and affirms Egypt's unwavering commitment to its firm humanitarian principles that call for confronting all forms and manifestations of terrorism. Minister Abdel-Atti also expressed Egypt's concern regarding the spread of terrorism, which has become one of the most dangerous security threats facing humanity, pointing to Egypt's adoption of an integrated approach in confronting this phenomenon and highlighting Egypt's accumulated experience in facing fierce waves of terrorism over the past decades. During the meeting, Minister Abdel-Atti affirmed Egypt's supportive stance on achieving de-escalation between India and Pakistan in a way that contributes to security and stability in the South Asia region. He noted that Cairo has followed the developments in the region with great concern, stressing Egypt's welcome of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries and the importance of working to resolve outstanding differences through dialogue and diplomatic channels.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti held a phone call on Monday with Abdulsalam Abdi Ali CAIRO – 29 April 2025: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti held a phone call on Monday with Abdulsalam Abdi Ali, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel-Atti extended his congratulations to his Somali counterpart on his appointment, expressing his best wishes for success in his new role. The Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized the depth of the historical relations and fraternal ties that bind Egypt and Somalia, which were elevated to the level of a strategic partnership during the visit of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to Egypt in January 2025. He highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various political, economic, and security fields, serving the interests of both nations and their people. Minister Abdel-Atti reiterated Egypt's full commitment to supporting Somalia's unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions, as well as its efforts to achieve security and stability in the country. They emphasized the importance of continuing close consultations between Egypt and Somalia in regional and international forums to address common challenges facing the Horn of Africa region. For his part, the Somali Minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt's supportive stances towards Somalia at all levels, commending Egypt's participation in the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), in response to the Somali Federal Government's request, and its consistent commitment to supporting his country's security and stability.
