Egg McMuffin celebrating 50th anniversary with a special sandwich deal
Egg prices might be skyrocketing, but national fast-food chain McDonald's has a deal on its iconic egg sandwich.
It was 50 years ago that the fast-food giant entered the breakfast market introducing its famed sandwich, the Egg McMuffin.
And McDonald's is celebrating its breakfast sandwich in a big way.
In honor of its 50th, McDonald's has an exclusive offer on Sunday's National Egg McMuffin Day. On Sunday, you can get an Egg McMuffin or Sausage McMuffin with Egg sandwich for a $1 each. The offer is exclusively through its App.

"At McDonald's, breakfast isn't just a meal; it's a cherished tradition and cornerstone of our brand," said McDonald's USA President Joe Erlinger in a news release. "Our fans know they can always count on us for a one-of-a-kind breakfast experience, anchored in great value and high-quality ingredients."
Another deal starts Monday and runs through March 30 offering its McDonald's Sausage McMuffin with Egg buy-one-get-one free when ordered for McDelivery through the McDonald's App.
McDonald's also announced its Bagel Sandwiches are now available at locations nationwide and by the end of 2026, more than half of its U.S. restaurants will offer Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

McDonald's Egg McMuffin sandwich got its first start in 1971 as a concept invented by Herb Peterson, a Santa Barbara California McDonald's franchisee. Peterson presented the sandwich to McDonald's founder Ray Kroc as a take on Eggs Benedict in the palm of your hand.
Decades later the Egg McMuffin became a grab-and-go option, fueling morning appetites with its sandwich of a fully cooked egg in a circle shape between a slice of Canadian bacon and a slice of American cheese served on toasted and buttered English muffin.
