MANAMA, April 28, (KUNA): Sheikh Sabah Dawood Al-Sabah, Director of the Kuwait International Motorsports Club Team, praised his team's impressive performance in the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship for the 2024-2025 season. In a statement to KUNA, Al-Sabah commended the team's exceptional skills and strong determination, which led them to secure top positions across all seven rounds of the championship, which began in October 2024 and concluded with the final round on April 25, 2025. Al-Sabah specifically highlighted the outstanding performance of team leader Ali Bushehri, who secured first place in the 600cc category, while Mohammed Al-Zaidan claimed second place in the same category. Additionally, Saud Al-Torah triumphed in the 1000cc category, further solidifying the team's dominance in the competition. The team also honored Jassim Zaman for his achievements in the Outlaw 6 Drag Racing category.

BIC Set for Thrilling Season-Finale to National Race Day on Friday

Manama: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), known as 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East', is gearing up to host the seventh and final round of National Race Day for the 2024/2025 season this Friday, April 25. According to Bahrain News Agency, the event will feature two of Bahrain's premier circuit racing series, the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship (BMC). Organised in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission, the action-packed event is set to commence at 4pm and continue until 9pm under the circuit's floodlights. Fans are invited to witness the racing spectacle, with tickets priced at BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. Spectators will have access to the Beyon Grandstand, ensuring excellent views of the 2.554-kilometre Inner Track. Tickets are available online at via the BIC Hotline at +973-17450000, or at the gate. In the BTCC, Isa Ebrahim, who achieved a double victory in the previous round, aims to finish the season strongly in his Honda Civic. He will compete against Moaaz Elzahrawi, Hamad Khamis, Ali Baqer, and Andreas Buelow, all driving Honda Civics, along with a Radio Bahrain entrant in a Honda Integra. The BTCC schedule includes practice at 4pm, qualifying at 5.10pm, with the first race at 6.34pm and the final race of the season at 8.09pm. In the BMC, Mohamad Alzaidan, who won the 600cc category last round, and Saud Al Toura, winner of the 1,000cc category, are both set to compete. Alzaidan will ride a Kawasaki ZX6, facing participants such as Shaikh Khalid Al Khalifa and Mohamed Al Sadiq on Triumph Daytonas, and others on various models. Al Toura will compete on a BMW S 1000 RR, alongside Abdulrahman Al Tayeb and other racers on different bikes. The BMC practice session is scheduled for 4.35pm, with qualifying at 5.45pm, and the race at 7.19pm. The podium ceremony is slated to start at 8.50pm. Excitement continues to build at Bahrain International Circuit as the sixth round of National Racing Day kicks off on Friday, March 7. The event will feature top local motorsport competitions, including the Bahrain Touring Car Championship and the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship. The action begins at 7:40 PM on Saturday and will run until 2:30 AM, promising highspeed thrills for motorsport fans. Spectators can attend for a nominal fee of 2 Bahraini dinars for adults and 1 dinar for children aged 3 to 12. The event is organized in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, Bahrain Circuit Racing Committee, Bahrain Motorcycle Committee, and the Autocross and Drift Committee. The Bahrain Touring Car Championship will feature two races of 15 laps each, starting at 10:15 PM and 11:44 PM, following practice and qualifying sessions earlier in the evening. Meanwhile, the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship will see 18 riders compete across two categories: 1000cc and 600cc. The motorcycle race, spanning 14 laps, is set for an 11:00 PM start. Ebrahim dominates National Race Day

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East', hosted over the weekend an action-packed fifth round of National Race Day, featuring two of the Kingdom's premier circuit racing series. Isa Ebrahim headlined the list of winners by securing a fantastic double in the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC), while Mohamad Alzaidan and Fahad Algosaibi shared the spoils in the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship (BMC), taking victories in their respective classes. Action in National Race Day was held along BIC's 2.55-kilometre Inner Track. The event was organised by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission, and the Motorsport Marshals Club. Ebrahim won both the meeting's BTCC races but Moaaz Elzahrawi had earlier claimed pole position for the opening sprint. He had posted a best lap time of one minute 17.939 seconds during qualifying. But in the opening event, Ebrahim was able to power ahead in his Honda Civic and take the chequered flag after 15 laps in 22:00.539. Elzahrawi followed as the runner-up 21.233s behind, while Ali Baqer came a distant third with a 49.781s gap. Baqer was also the winner of BTCC Junior class as all three podium finishers were behind the wheel of their respective Civics. In race two, Ebrahim struck again, this time winning by a bigger margin of over half-aminute. His total race time was 20:20.631, with Hamad Khamis, also in a Civic, taking second place 32.508s back. Baqer claimed his second podium appearance and once again won the BTCC Junior category after finishing 40.161s from Ebrahim. Meanwhile, the BMC had plenty of tight racing in both the 600cc and 1,000cc classes. Alzaidan was the overall winner on his Kawasaki ZX6. He completed the 14-lap race in 16:28.512 and also took first place amongst the 600cc runners. Algosaibi, who bagged pole with a best lap of 1:10.062, finished second overall and was also the winner in the 1,000cc category. Riding his BMW 1000RR, he finished 13.769s from Alzaidan. Ali Bou Shehri came third overall 15.165s from first place in his Honda CBR 600RR. He also claimed second amongst the 600cc competitors. Saif Al Buainain in a Yamaha R6 was third in the 600cc, while joining Algosaibi on the 1,000cc podium were Saud Al Toura on his BMW S 1000RR and Nawaf Al Shuaibi on a Honda CPR 100 RR. Following all the action, the winners were presented their respective trophies by officials. National Race Day is scheduled to feature seven rounds this 2024/2025 season at BIC, to be held all the way through to May.

The Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship (BMC) are both set to hit the track in Sakhir as the excitement builds in the latter half of their 2024/2025 seasons. Action will be held along BIC's 2.55-kilometre Inner Track from 9am onwards. All are welcome to attend. Tickets cost just BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. National Race Day is organised and run by BIC, in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission, and the Motorsport Marshals Club. The BTCC is the region's longest-running national circuit racing championship, and it continues its legacy this season in its current format. It was formerly known as the BIC, 2,000cc Challenge. Moaaz Elzahrawi clinched a fantastic double behind the wheel of his Honda Civic in the series' previous round, and he will be looking to repeat that success this Saturday. Elzahrawi will be up against a talented field that includes Andreas Buelow, Wiebke Buelow, Ali Baqer, Hamad Khamis, and Isa Ebrahim, all of whom will also be in Civics, along with the Radio Bahrain entrant in a Honda Integra. Saturday's events in the BTCC will feature a practice session, to be followed by qualifying and then two races. Meanwhile, the BMC will see a large group of 18 riders battling it out in the championship's two categories – the 600cc and 1,000cc. Mohamad Alzaidan took the overall and 600cc victories in the last round, while Nawaf Al Shuaibi won in the 1,000cc category. Alzaidan is back in his Kawasaki ZX6 bike this weekend, and in his class will be up against Shaikh Khalid Al Khalifa and Mohamed Al Sadiq in Triumph Daytonas, Nasser Al Khadra and Saif Al Buainain in Yamaha R6 bikes, Ali Bu Sahri and Abdulrahman Ahmed in a pair of Honda CBR600RR contenders, Achraf Hamoud in a Suzuki GSXR600, and Faisal Bader in a Honda CBR600. Amongst the 1,000cc competitors, Al Shuaibi is returning in his Honda CPR 100 RR. He will be going wheel-to-wheel against Hassan Al Awadhi and Mujahed Alkhashram in a pair of Yamaha R1 bikes, Bander Bahlul in a BMW 10004R, Fahed Al Hashash in a Suzuki GSXR, Saud Al Toura and Abdulrahman Al Tayeb in BMW S 1000RR contenders, Bradley Stewart in a Ducati 848 Evo, and Fahad Algosaibi in a BMW 1000RR. The BMC schedule will consist of a practice and qualifying session, followed by a single race. After all the action, the podium ceremonies will take place for both series. National Race Day is scheduled to feature seven rounds this 2024/2025 season at BIC, to be held all the way through to May.
