Millet Engineering Reaches 90% Completion of Sama Bay Phase Two in Galali
Millet Engineering Bureau, the firm overseeing the design and implementation of the 'Sama Bay' project on the Galali waterfront, announced that the second phase has surpassed 90% completion and is on track for full delivery in the near future. According to the Bureau, the initial phase of 'Sama Bay' covered a total area of 75,000 square meters in a prime coastal location. This phase introduced a vibrant mix of facilities including 14 retail units with flexible leasing options, 14 food trucks integrated within an open-air service zone, and two fully equipped public beaches designed to accommodate recreational and leisure activities. Additionally, the development features a 1.5-kilometer promenade that seamlessly links the various components of the project, offering both a sporting and leisurely experience. The phase also introduced 'Al Nakheel Premium,' a state-of-the-art open-air fitness Gym nestled in a natural environment, alongside multiple sports amenities such as a football field, padel courts, and a variety of outdoor seating areas distributed throughout designated relaxation and social zones. The second and final phase of the project significantly elevates the waterfront experience through the addition of six architecturally distinct buildings with direct sea views, each designed to accommodate two restaurants. Together, these twelve venues will offer a diverse array of dining experiences, thoughtfully curated to appeal to a wide range of tastes and culinary preferences. Dr. Salman Alghatam, General Manager of Millet Engineering, stated that work on 'Sama Bay' has progressed in alignment with the project's master schedule and in accordance with the highest engineering and quality standards. Dr. Alghatam added, 'In a remarkably short span, the project has emerged as a flagship destination for tourism, recreation, and lifestyle activities, drawing widespread interest from Muharraq residents, citizens, and international visitors alike. Its strategic coastal setting, combined with thoughtfully designed spaces, offers a seamless and enriching experience that meets a broad spectrum of interests while delivering outstanding quality and comfort.' said Dr. Alghatam remarked that since the launch of the first phase, 'Sama Bay' has attracted strong visitor engagement and served as a venue for major public events such as Bahrain Sports Day, affirming its role as a dynamic hub for wellness and community life. The second phase represents a pivotal advancement, introducing an exclusive array of seaside dining venues designed to deliver exceptional culinary experiences in an idyllic setting. These additions are set to further elevate the project's profile as a signature destination and a driver of both tourism and economic growth, in alignment with Bahrain's Tourism Strategy 2022–2026 and the national development goals outlined in Economic Vision 2030.

Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting
The Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting today at Gudaibiya Palace, addressing key national and regional developments. Ramadan Greetings and Regional Diplomacy On the occasion of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, the Cabinet extended its best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Cabinet also conveyed its greetings to the people of Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations, hoping for a blessed and peaceful month. The Cabinet highlighted the significance of the recent high-level meeting in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, attended by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on behalf of HM the King. The meeting, held at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, brought together key regional leaders, including UAE President HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kuwait's Amir HH Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Qatar's Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Jordan's King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, and Egypt's President HE Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Attended by over 400 scholars and religious leaders, the event was also graced by HE Dr. Ahmed Al Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders. Bahrain Sports Day and National Sports Initiatives Recognizing the significance of sports in community engagement, the Cabinet praised the efforts of public and private entities in Bahrain Sports Day. The visit was recognized as an important step in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering mutual cooperation. Ensuring Market Stability Ahead of Ramadan With Ramadan approaching, the Cabinet reviewed the stability of consumer goods' availability and pricing. Commending the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), and private sector stakeholders, the Cabinet expressed satisfaction with efforts ensuring price stability and product availability. Celebrating Kuwait's National and Liberation Days The Cabinet extended its congratulations to Kuwait on the occasion of its National and Liberation Days, wishing continued progress and prosperity to the country and its leadership under HH Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Key Government Decisions and Approvals During the session, the Cabinet approved several important memorandums, including: Legal and Legislative Matters: Approval of draft laws on taxation agreements, trade exhibitions, and infrastructure development projects, including the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Highway Upgrade. Foreign Affairs: Endorsement of Bahrain's agenda for the upcoming 163rd GCC Ministerial Council Meeting. Economic and Housing Initiatives: Approval of measures to enhance housing services for Bahraini citizens and discussions on economic cooperation with Egypt. Ministerial Reports and International Engagements The Cabinet reviewed reports on Bahrain's participation in regional and global forums, including: The 42nd Arab Interior Ministers Council meeting. The 15th IEA-IEF-OPEC Symposium on Energy. The Saudi Media Forum 2025 and "Future of Media" Exhibition. The World Investment Forum and the 38th GCC Youth and Sports Ministers' Meeting. ASRY hosts Bahrain Sports Day
The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) marked Bahrain Sports Day with an engaging series of activities at its headquarters on Thursday, 20 February. The event, held in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and Prime Minister, is part of the Kingdom's annual initiative to promote physical activity. ASRY's event featured a diverse mix of activities, including walking sessions, fitness challenges, and team-based games. In addition, health talks and medical check-ups were offered, with the team from Al Hilal Hospital providing health screenings. The event saw strong participation from ASRY employees and members, reflecting the commitment to encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle. The day aimed to reinforce the importance of sports in daily life and its positive impact on both individuals and society. The event featured a screening of the documentary Golden Girls, followed by a discussion session with the film's production team, highlighting key stages of its development and the role of girls in advancing Bahraini sports. The evening was attended by several dignitaries, including Shaikha Dawa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Lamaa Authority and producer of Golden Girls, alongside officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and representatives from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
