BIC set for sixth round of National Racing Day on Friday
Excitement continues to build at Bahrain International Circuit as the sixth round of National Racing Day kicks off on Friday, March 7. The event will feature top local motorsport competitions, including the Bahrain Touring Car Championship and the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship.
The action begins at 7:40 PM on Saturday and will run until 2:30 AM, promising highspeed thrills for motorsport fans. Spectators can attend for a nominal fee of 2 Bahraini dinars for adults and 1 dinar for children aged 3 to 12. The event is organized in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, Bahrain Circuit Racing Committee, Bahrain Motorcycle Committee, and the Autocross and Drift Committee.
The Bahrain Touring Car Championship will feature two races of 15 laps each, starting at 10:15 PM and 11:44 PM, following practice and qualifying sessions earlier in the evening. Meanwhile, the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship will see 18 riders compete across two categories: 1000cc and 600cc. The motorcycle race, spanning 14 laps, is set for an 11:00 PM start.
Among the key competitors in the 1000cc category are Hassan Al Owaid, Bandar Bahloul, and Marta De Lora, while the 600cc category will see Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Ali Boushahri, and Saif Al Buainain battling for top honors.
The Bahrain Touring Car Championship will also showcase fierce competition, with drivers such as Hamad Khamis, Issa Ibrahim, and Maaz Al-Zahrawi racing Honda Civics, while Omar Shaheen takes on the track in a Honda Integra.
National Racing Day has gained popularity in past rounds, drawing strong participation in Bahrain's local racing championships. Fans can expect another night of intense competition at the region's premier motorsport venue.
