Supreme Council for Women Continues Registration for Bahraini Women's Leadership Platform
The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has announced the continued registration for the "Bahraini Women's e-Leadership Platform," an initiative aimed at highlighting female leaders across various sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The platform seeks to document the professional journeys of Bahraini women, showcase their achievements, and create new opportunities for them to further contribute to national development. Launched during the 2024 Bahraini Women's Day celebration held on December 1 at the National Theatre, the platform provides every Bahraini woman the opportunity to record her contributions to both local and international development efforts. It also serves as an incentive to increase female participation in leadership and decision-making roles, aligning with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW. The platform, available on the SCW's official website at enables Bahraini female leaders to document their professional accomplishments and leave a lasting legacy. This effort supports the SCW's ongoing mission to identify and promote female talent, ultimately contributing to the development of a new generation of inspiring and impactful women leaders in the Kingdom. HRH Princess Sabeeka Chairs Supreme Council for Women Meeting Focused on Bahraini Women's Progress
Manama: Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), presided over the council's fourth meeting of its eighth term (2022-2025). HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim expressed her appreciation for the steadfast support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa towards the council's work and all national initiatives aimed at advancing Bahraini women. According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Princess Sabeeka emphasized that this support has empowered the SCW to achieve significant milestones in fulfilling His Majesty's vision, ensuring Bahraini women's contributions to national development and progress. She also praised the government's efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its continuous support and collaboration with all SCW initiatives, aligning with government priorities. HRH Princess Sabeeka highlighted the importance of convening this meeting at the start of the year, acknowledging the initiatives and activities implemented over the past period. This includes the celebration of Bahraini Women's Day, which featured events that showcased the achievements and contributions of Bahraini women. During the meeting, HRH Princess Sabeeka acknowledged the initiatives launched by the SCW Secretariat in line with the council's third meeting decisions, notably the adoption of work priorities for 2024. These initiatives are in line with the Kingdom's celebrations of the 25th anniversary of HM the King's accession to the throne. She underscored that the preparation of the National Plan (2025-2026) by a specialized committee comprising SCW members and the Secretariat team includes both ongoing and new initiatives. HRH Princess Sabeeka noted that these efforts aim to further support Bahraini women's advancement, enhance their participation in all sectors, safeguard their achievements, and ensure the sustainability of their contributions to national development. The council also reviewed a briefing by Lulwa Al Awadhi, Acting Secretary General of the SCW, on the implementation of 2024 priorities and the national celebrations marking His Majesty the King's Silver Jubilee. The report also covered the SCW's preparations for the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025-2026). The council was briefed on the Secretariat's efforts to renew MoUs with various government and civil society entities to enhance cooperation on women-related matters. It also reviewed reports on SCW's membership in specialized national committees and a proposal for a women's empowerment programme for board membership in publicly listed companies on the Bahrain Bourse. The council also discussed several initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation with relevant entities to support Bahraini women in various social, professional, and legal sectors.
