Daltonganj: Baijnath Singh (32), a sub-zonal commander of the banned LWE outfit Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), surrendered before cops in Latehar on Wednesday. Singh, who had been a part of the encounter with security forces in Herhunj in Latehar district in November last year, surrendered before DIG (Palamu Range) Naushad Alam and SP Kumar Gaurav.
Singh, wanted in seven cases in five police stations in the district, was unarmed when he surrendered. "He had abandoned his AK-47 during November encounter as he ran for his life," Gaurav said. Sources said this is the first disintegration of JJMP after neutralisation of its chief Pappu Lohra and one more ultra of this outfit some weeks ago in Latehar.
