Bajel Projects slides as PAT drops 32% YoY in Q4 FY25

Bajel Projects declined 5.87% to Rs 209.45 after the company's net profit fell 31.82% to Rs 4.82 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 7.07 crore posted in Q4 FY24. This decline in bottom line came despite a 63.84% YoY surge in revenue from operations, which stood at Rs 801.43 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 489.16 crore in the same period last year. Profit before tax (PBT) came in at Rs 6.33 crore, marginally lower by 1.25% compared to Rs 6.41 crore in Q4 FY24. Total expenses rose 62.57% YoY to Rs 801.70 crore during the quarter. Raw material costs jumped 54.74% to Rs 570.08 crore, while erection and subcontracting expenses surged 221.11% to Rs 114.09 crore. Employee benefit expenses also increased 29.42% to Rs 30.84 crore. On a full-year basis, the company's net profit jumped 260.37% to Rs 15.46 crore on a 122.22% rise in revenue to Rs 2,598.24 crore in FY25 over FY24. Bajel Projects (BPL) is a leading company in the business of power infrastructure, with a strong presence in the power transmission and power distribution sectors. BPL was formerly part of Bajaj Electricals under the EPC segment.

Bajaj Electricals Ltd has posted a robust set of results for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, with profit before tax surging 191% year-on-year to ₹71 crore, supported by improved gross margins and strong performance in the Consumer Products segment. The company's revenue from operations rose to ₹1,265 crore, up 6.5% from ₹1,188 crore in Q4FY24. The Consumer Products segment delivered ₹994 crore in revenue (up 8.4% YoY) and reported an EBIT of ₹39 crore, up from ₹16 crore in the same quarter last year—marking a 138% increase. The Lighting Solutions segment remained flat with ₹271 crore in revenue, while EBIT stood at ₹21 crore, down from ₹23 crore a year earlier. However, the EBIT margin for this segment improved to 7.8%, driven by better gross margins. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, the company generated positive cash flow of ₹87 crore from operations and reported cash and investments of ₹509 crore. Dividend declared at ₹3 per share In line with its Dividend Distribution Policy, the Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of ₹3.00 per equity share (150% of face value of ₹2) for the financial year ended March 31, 2025. If approved at the company's 86th Annual General Meeting (AGM), the dividend will be credited or dispatched on or before August 11, 2025. The record date for dividend eligibility is set as Friday, July 18, 2025, for shareholders holding shares in both physical and dematerialised form. Leadership update and outlook Mr. Shekhar Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Electricals, announced the appointment of Mr. Sanjay Sachdeva as the new Managing Director and CEO. Mr. Sachdeva, an alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta, joins from Unilever and brings extensive leadership experience across global markets. Commenting on the company's outlook, Mr. Bajaj said, 'We will continue our investments in our brand and products and other initiatives which will yield strong results going forward.' May 12 (Reuters) - India's Bajaj Electricals ( opens new tab reported a 101.5% jump in fourth-quarter profit on Monday, helped by a one-time income and strong demand for its home appliances, which range from air coolers to LED lights. The company's consolidated net profit rose to 590.5 million rupees ($6.95 million) in the quarter ended March 31, from 293.1 million rupees a year ago. Its bottom-line was also boosted by a 213.7 million rupees one-off gain, which includes the proceeds from liquidation of some properties. Its revenue from operations increased 6.5% to 12.65 billion rupees. Shares of Bajaj Electricals surged 13.9% after posting results and approving a 5 billion rupees fund raise. The fourth quarter was strong for consumer durables makers, driven by an early summer in India and demand for products like air coolers, refrigerators, and fans, analysts said. Bajaj Electricals jumped 14.91% to Rs 610.40 after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 59.05 crore in Q4 FY25, which is two times the PAT of Rs 29.31 crore recorded in Q4 FY24. Total revenue from operations increased by 6.51% year-over-year (YoY) to Rs 1,265.47 crore during the period under review. Total expenses rose by 3.85% to Rs 137.11 crore in Q4 FY25 as compared with Q4 FY24. This was primarily on account of higher raw material costs (up 15.9% YoY), higher purchases of traded goods (up 6.9% YoY) and higher employee expenses (up 14.6% YoY). The company reported a net exceptional item of Rs 21.37 crore in the fourth quarter. In March 2025 quarter, the company liquidated few immovable properties. It has recorded a profit of Rs 30.13 crore on these transactions. Further, the company incurred an expense of Rs 8.76 crore, which pertained to the voluntary retirement scheme for its Nashik factory. Accordingly, profit before tax in Q4 FY25 stood at Rs 71.25 crore, which is nearly three times the pre-tax profit of Rs 24.45 crore registered in Q4 FY24. Tax outgo for the March 2025 quarter was Rs 12.20 crore. The company had written back taxes amounting to Rs 4.86 crore in the March 2024 quarter. For FY25, the durable appliances maker has recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 133.42 crore (down 1.8% YoY) and total revenue of Rs 4,828.43 crore (up 4% YoY). Bajaj Electricals is a consumer appliances and lighting solutions company. Its business portfolio spans consumer products (appliances, fans, cookware) and lighting solutions (consumer and professional lighting).
