How to get a Lidl Gold Card with ‘phenomenal' free bakery perk
Fancy free croissants for an entire year? What about cheese twists, chocolate brownies and cinnamon buns? Well, there's good news then because Lidl shoppers could be in with the chance of nabbing themselves just this, as the budget retailer has just created a brand new Bakery Gold Card. Anyone who knows anything about Lidl will know that the in-store bakery is considered legendary – with a cult online following to rival the likes of Greggs and Gail's. On social media there are rave reviews for the products, with people hailing the bread and sweet treats as 'phenomenal', 'gorgeous' and 'divine'. The best-selling item is the All Butter Croissant and to give you an idea of just how popular this is, 122 of them are purchased every single minute. There are 500 of the supermarket's new Gold Card available and getting your hands on one won't cost you a penny… All you have to do to be in with a chance of securing free pastries for a year is comment on Lidl's TikTok or Instagram post about it before 23:59 on May 26, sharing why you think you deserve a Gold Card. Those who are selected to get one will be able to claim a free bakery product every single day for a year via the Lidl Plus App. Potential freebies include the famous All Butter Croissant (59p), a Chocolate Hazelnut Doughnut (79p), a Petit Pain (29p), a White Artisan Baguette (99p), a Cheese Twist (99p), a Sticky Cinnamon Bun (79p), an Ultimate Chocolate Brownie (89p) and a slice of Vegetable Pizza (99p). It's not just Lidl's baked goods that are impressing customers. The retailer was also just crowned victorious in a supermarket sausage taste test, with its £2.49 bangers beating out M&S as well as big name brands like Jolly Hog. More Trending Nine supermarket own-brand sausages were pitted against each other as part of the test and compared to several popular brands too. Ultimately, three ended up being named the superior 'best buys' of the lot. A panel of 65 consumers conducted the blind taste test for Which? and it was Lidl's sausages that came out on top as consumers loved their 'juicy texture', 'perfect meaty flavour' and 'herb and spice seasoning that hit the spot'. As well as being a Best Buy, Lidl's sausages also gained a Great Value award as they're well below average price-wise. View More » However, it's worth noting that Lidl's sausages are pretty high in saturated fat. Two sausages contain 11.5g, which is more than half the recommended daily maximum for women and more than a third for men. Do you have a story to share?
