Haryana Salon Gives Bal Krishna Doll A Makeover, Internet Asks ‘But Why?'

In the viral clip, a medium-sized doll of Bal Krishna is given a full salon-style treatment.
Bal Krishna, Lord Krishna's childhood form, is worshipped with great love and devotion in many Hindu households. People often place a small murti (idol) of Bal Krishna in their homes and care for it lovingly just like they would care for a child. A video has now gained widespread attention on social media which features a Bal Krishna doll getting a makeover at a salon.
The video was shared by a salon based in Haryana on Instagram. In the clip, a medium-sized doll of Bal Krishna is given a full salon-style treatment. Two people are seen washing the doll's jet-black long hair using shampoo and conditioner. After the wash, the hair is wrapped in a dry towel. Then, a blow dryer is used to dry the hair completely.
After the blush, lipstick is applied to the lips. The hair is then styled in a neat braid and decorated with floral hair accessories. The final result shows Bal Krishna in a new look.
The caption accompanying the video reads, 'When the Lord of Vrindavan chooses Zen Unisex Salon, miracles happen! This video is intended solely to express devotion and love. We do not wish to hurt anyone's sentiments. If anyone has been hurt unintentionally, we sincerely apologise."
The video gained significant traction online as it accumulated nearly two million views. Although the salon had added a disclaimer to the post, it did not stop a wave of criticism from social media users. Many people called it disrespectful towards religious sentiments.

A viewer remarked, 'Enough disrespect! Take your salon stunts somewhere else not on Gods!!"
