Salak, also known as snake fruit, has been a source of pride for Bali for centuries. Native to Indonesia, the fruit's farming system has been honoured as an important global agricultural heritage. Salak is a vital source of income for many in Bali but seasonal price swings and tricky market conditions are putting farmers under pressure.
