The "John Wick" spinoff, "Ballerina: From the World of John Wick," is almost here, and Lionsgate has released a full clip, lasting a little over a minute, of a particularly brutal fight in a kitchen. Ana de Armas's Eve squares off against who appears to be no more than a cook, but soon proves to have a lot more fighting prowess than your average chef. You can watch the clip below.

In the tradition of "John Wick", everything becomes fair game as a weapon. From butcher knives to mallets to plates, Eve and her assailant use just about everything but the kitchen sink against one another, including the kitchen cooler.

"Ballerina" is an important milestone for the "John Wick" universe, marking the very first cinematic spinoff of the IP, but certainly not the last. Along with the upcoming "John Wick: Chapter 5", there's a lot more content coming out of the world of assassins, high tables, and killer dancers. Donnie Yen will star in and direct "Caine" spinning out of his time in "John Wick: Chapter 4".
Then there's an anime prequel which will tell the story of how John Wick first got out of his obligations to the High Table, taking place before the events of the first "John Wick" feature. And while it's not so much a spinoff as a companion, any "Wick" fan would regret missing the recently released documentary "Wick Is Pain" about the making of the bloody saga.
The "John Wick" world has also extended into television. There was the 2023 prequel series "The Continental," which streamed on Peacock, and coming soon is "John Wick: Under the High Table," which will tell the story of a new generation of assassins spinning out of the events of "John Wick: Chapter 4".
While all of these prequels and spinoffs are planned, time will tell whether or not they can stand on their own as anything more than "John Wick" footnotes.
"Ballerina" releases in theaters June 6, 2025. The film is directed by Len Wiseman, and stars Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, with Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves.
