Judge Teresa Ballinger honored for judicial excellence in Ohio

A Marion Municipal Court judge has been awarded the President's Award for Judicial Excellence by the Association of Municipal/County Judges of Ohio. In Teresa Ballinger's acceptance speech during a Jan. 29 award presentation, she expressed admiration for other Ohio judges who work to change the lives of those struggling before them, according to an announcement. Ballinger has served on the bench for more than 20 years, developing a reputation for fair judgment, compassion and dedication to upholding the law. During her career she was part of the founding creators of Marion Matters Inc., which educates the public and provides resources for those in need. "Judge Ballinger's work goes beyond the courtroom," said Tom Stotts, chief probation officer for Marion Municipal Court. "She exemplifies what it means to serve the public and is a beacon of hope for many. This award is a testament to her unwavering dedication." The President's Award for Excellence is given annually to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service and leadership in their field. Ballinger said the award is not just for her but for all those who believe in the power of the law to bring about positive change.
