Mayo school sanctioned over alleged anti-social behaviour at schools game
Ballinrobe Community School lose home advantage in Connacht GAA PPS Senior A Championship for two years after being sanctioned by Connacht GAA over anti-social behaviour at 2024 championship meeting with St Gerald's College
Ballinrobe Community's School's senior Gaelic football team have been banned from playing home games in the Connacht GAA PPS Senior A Championship for two years, the Irish Independent can reveal.
The south Mayo-based school were sanctioned by Connacht GAA over alleged anti-social behaviour displayed by a number of their students in their Connacht championship win over St Gerald's College, Castlebar, at Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe.
The game took place on December 18 and ended in a 2-18 2-15 win for Ballinrobe Community School.
Connacht GAA conducted an investigation into the matter earlier this year following a complaint from St Gerald's College. The sanction means that Ballinrobe Community School will forfeit home advantage for their next two games.
Ballinrobe Community School and St Gerald's failed to get out of their Connacht championship group after finishing with two points each behind eventual provincial finals St Colman's College and Summerhill College.
