U.S. National Science Foundation Commemoration of its 75th anniversary
Event Description Join us for NSF STEM Day at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This free, public event is a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the National Science Foundation and highlights the impact of NSF-funded work in Baltimore and beyond. The day will feature an interactive STEM Maker Faire with hands-on activity tables and demonstrations, panel discussions led by researchers, educators, and community partners, and a showcase of art-science installations developed through NSF grants. Free transportation will be available from select Baltimore recreation centers, and all event attendees will receive free admission to the Baltimore Museum of Industry during the event.

Listen to old-time music, celebrate the Man of Steel, dig for dinosaur bones, hunt for Easter eggs or save lives by giving blood. Celebrate Old Time Music, a combination of European and African music, at the 6th annual Baltimore Old Time Music Festival at the Baltimore Museum of Industry, 1415 Key Highway. Enjoy musical performances by Ken and Brad Kolodner, The Canote Brothers, New Dangerfield, Tall Poppy String Band and more. Ticket prices are $40 for Friday, $25 for Saturday and $115 for a weekend pass. Friday-Saturday Celebrate the first appearance of The Man of Steel nearly 90 years ago at Superman Day at Third Eye Comics, 209 Chinquapin Round Road, Annapolis. Action Comics No. 1 with 'Superman' on the cover was released on April 18, 1938. Get a free 'Superman' comic book with any purchase. Other Superman Day theme merchandise will be available. Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Learn about the time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth at Dig Into Dinos at the Maryland Science Center, 601 Light St. Learn about excavation techniques, get up close with dinosaur teeth and claws and more. Tickets cost $29.95 for adults, $28.95 for seniors and $21.95 for children ages 3-12. Friday 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children ages 10 and under can track down goodies around the Roundhouse in the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the B&O Railroad Museum, 901 W. Pratt St. Take a train ride on the Mile One Express, get a photo taken with the Easter Bunny and more. The sensory-friendly egg hunt offers accommodations including pre-visit resources, a visual schedule of the event, a detailed map of campus identifying onsite resources, noise-canceling headphones and a designated quiet room. Tickets cost $6 for members and for non-members: adults $25, seniors and children 2-12 $22. Friday 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Help save lives at the Red Cross Blood Drive at the Creative Arts Center at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, 400 Cathedral St. Potential donors will be screened and those who give a pint of blood will get a snack afterward. Registration is highly recommended. Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
