AMMK cadre stage demonstration in Tiruchi

: Members of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) on Monday staged a demonstration in front of Tiruchi Corporation's main office to highlight various civic issues. The demonstrators flayed the Corporation for supplying discoloured drinking water in Woraiyur, Srirangam, Thiruvanaikovil and other areas of the city. They alleged that the discolouration was due to the poor quality of distribution pipes. They were also critical of the slow pace of construction of the road over bridge near Fort Railway Station, felling of trees at Green Park near Panjapur to establish an integrated market, high entry fee at Woraiyur fish market and 'delay' in revision of the Tiruchi Master Plan. Later, they presented a petition to the Balu Kanagasabapathy, Deputy Commissioner, Tiruchi Corporation.
