Tony Hawk shows off vintage membership card from Metro Vancouver skate park
Skateboarder Tony Hawk posted a picture of his 1988 membership card from the Richmond Skate Ranch on Instagram.
Just weeks after he made an appearance in Smithers to celebrate the opening of a new skate park, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk has given B.C. another shoutout.
The pro skater says he was he was digging through old boxes when he found his membership card for the Richmond Skate Ranch from 1988.
'Ray Underhill and I took a spontaneous trip there to skate their labyrinth of ramps and capture video for Ban This,' Hawk wrote in an Instagram post Sunday, referring to a skateboarding documentary he was featured in.
Richmond Skate Ranch was built by local skateboarding legend Kevin Harris in the mid-80s inside a converted warehouse, and it existed as a venue for skaters until sometime in the early 90s.
Hawk also shared videos of himself getting some serious air between the various half-pipes in the venue.
